It could be that you swallow air whilst trying to eat and drink, however chest pain should always be investigated further, obviously any cough you have is going to aggravate chest muscles but don't leave it too long if this continues. I hope you feel better soon xxx

I don't get this but I agree with Lou that chest pain that lasts more than a day or 2 should be looked at. I hope it disappears for you. Take care! Sending you a gentle hug!

Hi B1994

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering in this way and I have pasted you an excerpt from the *MDHealth website below:

*We all suffer from trapped gas at some time in our lives. Most of the time, we pass flatus or belch and it goes away. If it isn’t relieved, it is possible to suffer from gas pains in chest. The cause is usually drinking or eating and may even lead to gas build up in the intestines. The result is usually diarrhea or constipation accompanied by abdominal cramping. This article will help you understand what causes trapped wind in chest and some helpful remedies for relief.

If this continues for you it may be best to get it checked out just to have other medical conditions ruled out of the equation. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck my friend and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi B1994

I have been am asthma sufferer all my life, apart from fibro and now cancer for the past ten years. I can relate to your problem,as I have had 1000s of chest infections, if you have a chest infection and you are getting trapped wind, this is because your lungs are not expelling the air out of them properly, what I mean is that when you take a breath in on a normal basis it goes into you're chest and comes back out, when you have a chest infection much of the air you breath in goes into you stomach hence your trapped wind as it doesn't all come back out from your stomach. The pain in your chest is probably from the actual infection its self. So my suggestion is that you go to your GP ASAP and get on to some antibiotics without delay.

Hope this has helped and you feel better soon

Gentle hugs xxx

Hi again B1994 that is a really good oxygen level! I have had asthma all of my life and more recently been diagnosed with COPD. I am quite envious of your peak flow as well. I am currently on a course of Doxycycline and 40mg daily steroids and still cannot get that high a score, I am averaging just below 400. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Wow I get about 97 on a good day and my peak flow has never past 350 !!!(sometimes I ask if they keep on giving me a broken one, especially as I have had peak flows for over 32 years 😂) I have been on adult dosis of steroids since I was only 3 years old and have had many scary episodes in the past (I've been put on artificial respirators many times (my voice sounds like a old sailors and I'm only 38) i have even been in a coma because of my asthma!!! ) so you need to just keep ontop of what the docs told you and you should be ok!!

Anyway I am glad you took advice and went to the GP and found you got a chest infection going on, and can now treat it correctly and get better soon !!!

Gentle hugs and keep warm for a few days xx
