Chest pain

Hi everyone

Been suffering with fibro symptoms for a year and a half and been to doctors numerous times they have put me on 1200mgs so far gabapentin. My question to everyone is does anyone suffer chest pain? It feels like indigestion 24/7.

I do but mine isn't Fibro related. Mine is due to heart disease.

Hello Janelpu3,

Some people with Fibro complain of Costochrondritis , I get this too. My bouts only last for a few minutes with a dull ache afterwards. It feels like someone is sat on my rib cage, my breathing goes shallow and I struggle to breathe due to the pain and tightness.

Obviously, I cannot say what you are experiencing is Costochrondritis however these are my symptoms. With any chest pain you should consider seeing your GP to discuss these symptoms and maybe have a few checks like ECG's etc, as I would always encourage you to get a proper diagnosis from a Healthcare Professional.

please please always get any chest pain checked out, heart pain can be thought to be indigestion and vice versa. Whilst there is a myriad of things chest pain can be it is important to rule out heart pain. This also applies if you feel your chest pain has altered.

yes i have and been taken to A&E for suspected heart attack, but all was clear, its another symptom apparently

Thanks everyone for the replying. I have had ecg's, treadmill tests,lung function, heart scans but all come back normal. so I just thought it might be connected to fibromyalgia.

Just gets me down when I already feel like rubbish most days.

Hi I get chest pains with my fibro also pain in my ribs in left side more and like in my breast bone but yes the chest pains are awful I've had ecgs done at hospital and doctors numerous times making sure there us nothing badly wrong but still get ures checked. Out so you know for sur from g .p let us know how you get on Lizzo

Last I went to the doctors he said it was not my heart after all the tests they did. He gave me gabapentin and sent me on my way.

It seems that there not interested in helping in anyway. Trying to explain to family and friends how bad you feel and they just look at you like you're mad.

Google Fibromyalgia , print out the symptoms and give copy to each family member !!
