Chest pain

Hi everyone, I’ve had Fibro for a number of years, just diagnosed this year. This last month I was rushed to the hospital for chest pain. Felt like my heart was super tight and sharp pain that felt like it radiated to my arm pit and my jaw all on my left side. I didn’t have a heart attack so they sent me home. Since then I’ve had a stress test and an echo which are normal. This was a month ago and I still get chest pain. Not as strong but strong enough to be annoying. Twice it’s happened on my right side. I have an appointment to see a lung doctor soon. I’m just curious if anyone with fibromyalgia has had anything like this? Especially if it’s related to the Fibro? I’m wondering if it’s just the Fibro pain creating muscle spasms? Any comments welcome. Thanks!

Hun a good thing I was taught was press the area if it hurts it’s unlikely to be heart related but musculoskeletal. Trouble is any chest pain should really be checked by professionals and you did the right thing by doing this better safe than sorry xx

No problem x

Most lpeople melt it's costochondritis. I find it the most distressing fibro pain, it's really uncomfortable.

You did the right thing going to hospital and the follow up tests will reassure you it's not a heart problem. I had a CT, ECG, breathing tests and pages of blood tests at the Resouratory clinic and nothing showed up.

I've found heat is the only thing that helps. Not that you want a hot water bottle clamped to your chest in this weather !

Many have experienced this I believe costochondritis gives off these symptoms

I was in A&E a few months ago with similar. They didn't seem to know what was going on. I do know that sometimes the tendons all around the chest such as the ones holding the ribs in place can become inflamed and cause awful pain. I had this before I had fibro and it has funny name of tzetzierz syndrome.. My spelling is probably wrong. It is extremely upsetting and yes my recent time it went down my left and too.

Yes I had various tests and mine was costochonditis which seems something that quite a few people on the forum have it is really unpleasant and painful. Do hope yours starts to ease soon.x
