I get chest or throat infections all the time currently got bad chest infection 3 weeks of steroids and a week of antibiotics only problem I have is I don't know when chest infection getting worse anymore as I don't know if it's the normal torturing pain in my lung area or my lungs are getting worse I have a throat spray as my throat is constantly sore
Hi cowsrock
I am so sorry to read that you keep getting laryngitis and chest infections and I sincerely hope that you can find a resolution to the problem. I get multiple chest infections as my immune system is quite poor. My GP gives me Prednisolone steroids for a week and this always clears it up.
Good luck

Hi
Every time I catch a cold it invariably turns into a chest infection. I had pneumonia in 2010 which involved being hospitalised for a couple of days.
When I have a sore throat and get Laryngitis I lose my voice completely, to the point I can't even make a 'phone call as no one can hear me! This usually goes on for about 10 days.
My children love it when that happens

My weak area is my sinuses. I get sinusitis maybe 7 or 8 times every year. Sometimes this causes a secondary infection, either a chest infection or, most recently, and over christmas and new year, an ear infection. If it is affecting my throat and chest, I have been known to be talking and half way through a word or sentence, my voice just disappears. Then later, and again without warning, it will come back (and it gives me a fright, haha!) Hot lemon and honey drinks help me. (squeeze the juice of a lemon into a cup, top up with boiled water, and add honey to taste). It sometimes stings but is essentially both soothing and healing.
Hi cowsrock, I think our immune systems are compromised and leave us more open to infections than others. I really hope that you are able to get on top of this soon, I'm sending lots of healing positive vibes your way

I have a chest infection right now Everytime I get a cold i either end up with a chest infection or tonsilitus, always one of the other. Stupid immune system!!
Cowsrock I have had flu jab for 18 years now because of asthma and have avoided chest infections up until around 3 years ago had 1 after the other last year but still believe the flu jab is best way to go but since I have had fm symptoms I have been getting sensitive to drugs and food and my immune system getting weaker all steroids probably don't help things is I also had an allergic reaction to flu jab this year so not ever allowed another sometime it never rains it pours but I just take it all in get knocked down and get back up I do have the odd hormonal day as I call them however apart from the fact the fm seams to take over my body I am trying not to let it take my pea size brain only on the odd occasion xxxx
yes it is exhausting the same thing.i have honey and hot water that helps, energy and soothes throat .a constant croaky voice.not nice xx pink ribbons
