i just know your going to laugh..

i know your going to laugh at me, but theres a whopping big frog,[definately not toad] in my living room. I was watching White Collar when something caught my eye I switched the light on quickly, but not fast enough as it had attracted Buggles attention and hes chased it under the television. Any ideas how to get the silly thing out again? what did it come in for anyway? its had to travel from the garden, through the kitchenand hall and into the living room! My friend suggested leaving a shallow bowl of water for it, which bug promptly tried to drink, ... Well? any frog experts? I dont want to go to bed with that hopping around the living room!! oh oh, here he comes..keep you posted ha ha. lyzzie x

Darn the dog has spotted him again!!.

just a ps, Ive just about stopped laughing myself, the Frog has just chased my brave dog into his mancave, he then scrambled out of there and over me to get to the couch, It was the funniest thing Ive seen in a long time. I have no idea where the frog has gone, friend said leave the water and hope he get in it,...what a Brian Rix Farce, good grief that ages me!! still cheered me up!, if not the dog, who still looks as though the martians have landed.

Just do a bigger version of the glass and postcard to catch it, maybe a bucket and tray, or if feeling brave scoop it up in a damp cloth and put gently outside. Good luck xxx

thanks very much all of you....hhmm..everytime I got near the perishing thing it jumped again, the dog was not going any where near it, wouldnt get off of the couch, the coward! In the end I nudged it out of the living room [after it finally came out from under the tv] with the end of my crutchs out of the living room, down the hall, slight diversion when it tried to get in Bugs water bowl, and out the kitchen door, and into the garden, the the lord!, I wasnt scaredof it, but it not fare well in my living room!! and I was worried I might step on the sill thing, it wasnt small either!!!. I just cant believe what a huge Wuss my so called guard dog is, fancy being chased by a frog for pities sake!!. His man cave is the space between my chair and the couch, we put a lid on it for him abd a curtain door when he first came over five years ago now because he got nervous at time,...like when attacked by a frog..sigh.. They love getting in the garden pots, especially when its been raining or we've watered the plants. TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

I'm roughly the same thanks. My head is all woolly. Just recently woke up after missing so much sleep for a long time, it all caught up with me at an odd time really. Now I won't be able to think straight for a couple of hours. I did boil a kettle of water to make a cup of tea ('English Breakfast Tea' it says on the box. Well I guess about 8:30PM is about as far as you can get from a traditional breakfast time?

I did that in one mug and in a second mug I made some instant mash and sloshed in some cheeses to make my 'cheesy mash' (Recipe I put up on Ken's pinned recipes page healthunlocked.com/fibromya....

So English breakfast tea and a mug of cheesy mash for when you wake up, and at 8:30pm? Conventional I'm not I guess...But it was quick, cheap and filling, since I can't really stand long enough to cook properly.

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

I actually like instant mash, I know this will sound disgusting, but it delicious for a quick meal when you dont feel like cooking or eating!, can of Baxters soup, has to be them as they are the only soup people that make a really nice thin soup, french onion is good, heat it and thicken it with the instand mash as thick as you like, works with any consumme type soup. told you it sounded yucky but it tastes good. left alone, I would live on cheese and crackers. Take good care of yourself. before i go, how about cheese on toast, then spread tomato ketchup on it!! good. Every one is now gagging with horror! Lyzzie x

TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

Oh no-It sounds lovely to me! I like really thick 'soups'!

I actually put a slice of gravy on my plate for instance...

I was given some cans of Campbell's condensed soups a few years ago by a neighbour who couldn't use them anymore. You should have seen the shade of green she turned when I said I found they made very good sandwich spreads... She called me mad! Her husband though looked amused, I think he would have secretly quite liked to have tried them on sandwiches.

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

no, I think you've got me beaten there Terry, I like mustard as a sandwich spread though, and of course marmite, but thats quite tame compared to soup as a sandwich!! I dont like condensed soups, they are to sweet, Baxters are the best. The onion one makes a delicious gravy as well, you get inventive when your cooking for yourself, personally I wouldnt bother at all if I wasnt nagged. I do cook pasta though, I love it cold as well, no difference really froma past salad is it? I eat lots of fruit, and yoghurt, its not always easy when theres just you, by the time you've finished cooking it, you dont want it anymore!! Please look after yourself. Lyzzie x

TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

That was just the problem I had with the condensed soups, they were way too sweet for me, so I 'diluted' them by spreading them over bread, where they didn't seem too sweet as there was only a thin layer of them...

What, you too? I have the same thing about by the time I've cooked something, I don't want to eat it by then as I've gone off the idea with having to cook it...

I also eat cold pasta like a salad, along with tinned potatoes and mayo as spud salad.

You look after yourself too lyzzie

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

actually, that sounds quite good, pasta salad really, I love cheese, especially the dreaded cottage cheese, my friend loves blue cheese but I think thats horrible. I will occasionally make a casserole but it working up the interest. I keep meaning to buy some meatballs and try them, but Im afraid I tend to have snack meals, and i shouldnt, Im diabetic and always getting told off. I rarely eat brekfast and thats a bad habit, its left over from working, I could never face food before 10.00am. Another favorite is a simple sausage in a roll, Tesco do their Tiger bread in Rolls. I do my shopping via the laptop now and its too easy to browse the sweets!! Honestly though, you shouldnt get into too many bad habits Terry, Im the last one to talk, its tedious when its for one, look after yourself wont you. Lyzzie x

I actually love FAT FREE cottage cheese. Everyone goes 'Ugh' it seems, but when you go for the normal cottage cheese, it's like trying to eat lumpy water. The fat free stuff does actually taste of cheese in my experience! That is why I prefer it. It's also slightly lower calories as well.

I have to cut calories to stabilise my weight, but my blood sugar keeps going too low, sometimes dangerously so. I'm not taking insulin though, my natural levels of insulin seem to be too high and it is causing me problems with constantly being ravenous, and sugar cravings.

So now I have no mealtimes. I go as long as I can before eating, sometimes trying to sleep if I'm too hungry and can't spare the calories. Every day is a nightmare and constant battle with food. I almost never have breakfast, even though it is supposed to be bad for you, because I've found that for me, having breakfast leads to weight gain again.

Snack food are often not good, especially for diabetics. but the idea of little and often (as in snacking INSTEAD of meals), can actually be good. It helps to even out the sugar spikes. I tend to make up my own snacks and keep them in the fridge, like mashed potatoes and mixed veg. I put plenty of vinegar on them and have them like others might have salt and vinegar crisps for a snack for example? It's a little healthier.

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

I like oven chips, my biggest weakness is ice cream, especially magnums, and yoghurts, have you tried the norwegian yoghurt Skia I think its called, its fat free and very low in sugar and is naturally tart, it very good with fruit. Im not a huge fan of crisps and stuff, I cant lecture you about eating properly when Im as bad myself, Ive just cooked the dog some scottish beef mince for his tea, and I had a salad roll and fruit, Im out of yoghurt and ice cream darn it, time for a tesco shop I think. I know i dont drink enough, I will occasionally drink Tea, but mostly its fizzy water. I dont like squash or stuff like that, proper fruit juices are good, but full of sugar. love veggies, would happily chomp through a plate of cabbage or runner beans. Any one else out there have weird food likes? Terry and I cant be the only ones!!.

TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

Oh darn, I can't remember the name of it now? It was 'luxury' brand of ice cream,t hat had yoghurt on top of it before it was frozen. When I used to be able to afford it, it was wonderful!

I tend not to like thing that are too sweet. When I made my apple crumble, my neighbours said it wasn't quite sweet enough, and I'd been worried that it might have been too sweet!

I've not seen Skia, I must try it when I can. I seem to like store's own brands of 'live' yoghurts. They seem to get the balance of sweet and tart about right for me.

That's a GREAT idea lyzzie ! Why don't you make a separate post about weird food likes and dislikes? I'll happily join in as the groups seem a little quiet just now. Perhaps a lot on holiday?

I have IBS that responds badly to fibre, or I would eat a lot more veg than I do.

I drink a lot of low calorie fizzy drinks. because I seem to have a permanent dry and sore throat. It really helps me, as I can't keep taking cough medicine for it.

Big, super-soft, squishy-warm hugs to everyone today!

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

Try using sparkling water with a splash of fruit juice, its the artificial sweetner thats making you thirsty, and dry, The more you drink the worse it gets. I like a splash of Lemon juice in the water, taste is nice and tart and very refreshing. I've never come across ice cream and yoghurt together, does sound good though. I dont like sorbert.

Okay guys...likes and dislikes? any one out there? Terry and I cant be the only ones with weird tastes!!

Oh by the by terry, I have IBD as well, but I know what I can and cant eat, I only eat brown bread for instance, too much fruit can be a disaster waiting to happen if you get me.

Has any one actually eaten frogs legs? and Im not offering my little mate up for taste testing. I loath hot tuna, or fish roe.. Lyzzie x

TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

Oh you're the one!!!

When I was diagnosed with IBS, I was told by my doc to eat lots of fibre-rich food like brown bread.

The agony it put me through! - I would have strangled him next time I saw him, if I'd have been well enough!

When I got the internet, I looked it up and found that all doctors suggest eating more fibre for IBS, but that a lot of people were finding it caused agony when they did. Since then I seem to have only met people who found fibre made them worse, you are actually my first find of someone who it makes better!

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

It really is a case of learning what you personally can and cant eat, I only eat two slices a day or it upsets my stomach, if you know what I mean, Tomatos give me a problem, I think thats why the health guys cant give you a diet sheet, you have to try stuff and eliminate as you go. Thats why I dont eat Heinz soups, they contain animal fats and dont suit me. I really do prefer brown breads to white, and they do suit me better. I will never eat anything spicy, it makes me sick. yuck. Ive had IBD for years and am in the happy position of controlling it, ot the other way around!. It took time though believe me.

Lyzzie x

TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

This is kind of why I wish doctors would be more guarded in what thy say. tomatoes for me are fine! I can and do eat lots and lots of them. Even apples are fine IF COOKED. Raw, I can eat only about 1/3 of an apple.

I had IBS for years now also and I've got a much better idea what I can and can't have. I don't think I'm as good at managing it as you though, because for a long time, I didn't realise that what I ate made such a difference. I kind of blindly followed the doctors advice, making only slight alterations for those things which seemed to affect me so badly-Like brown bread. It was years before I got the internet and it was only seeing what others were saying that gave me the courage to ignore what the doc had advised me to do and to start experimenting for myself.

So I'm not as far along as you, but I am finding that I have been able to minimise the problems by slowly finding out what food works for me and what will set off a bad attack.

Perhaps the biggest suprise of all for me is Batchelor's super noodles. I ADORE them, but I can't have them anymore, they really set off a massive attack for me every single time. Oddly though I can eat noodles with no apparent problems. Isn't that odd? I still don't know what it is that sets me off with them. They don't seem to cause anyone else any problems, just me! I'm weird...

I hope you have as good a day as you can!

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

no, I understand the noodles, its possibly the fat they used, but it is odd, I can eat pasta quite happily and that contains fats, I love fish and chips, its a treat for me, but I never ever eat the batter. I can get away with somethings if I only eat a little. I adore melons, but the water melon doesnt touch the sides if you get me. Doesnt stop me eating it though, brilliant for constipation, what a wonderful conversation this is!. The oddest thing I find is that I cant have New potatoes when they are really new at the beginning of the season, I can eat them later on. weird. Dont forget to try substituting the drinks for fizzy water & fruit juice, see if it helps, use soda water if you prefer. I could just murder a bar of galaxy chocolate! all this talk of food. Lyzzie x

TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

Really? The fat you think it might have been? I was left wondering if it was the flour they were made from. Nothing much seemed to make sense, which is why like a fool I ate them a few times in disbelief. But they got me every time, so it must have been something in them that gets me!

I know what you mean about watermelons. Although in all honesty, I don't know of anything that causes that with me. It happens sometimes with IBS, but there seems to be nothing in common, it just happens. The 'dead stop' though is quite another matter and I know a few things that brings that on. Fortunately it takes a lot of eggs or cheese to do it, but only some of the supernoodles, and only a tiny amount of brown bread.

I saw a thing once of why fibre is bad for some people and it has always stuck with me. It was a cartoon of a bowel (I don't think it is going to get a job with Disney...) and there was a scouring pad being pulled through it on a string. The writing said your bowel is already inflamed and sore, so fibre does this to it... Oh did seeing that make me cringe and clench!

Well, it was time for me to get something to eat anyway, so I just had a boiled egg on a sandwich.

I don't keep chocolate in the house now, it's too tempting at times!

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to TerryT1

I suppose you could also be wheat intolerant but why buy trouble? its more likely the fats, look for vegetarian suitable stuff, see if it makes a difference. Again thats why I prefer Baxters soups, they do an excellent vegetarian range.I love fish, I really must make the effort to get some and cook it properly, but its hugely expensive now.

Did you see all the different foods the forum enjoy eating? I dont feel so weird about my choices now! but I do love cheese and raw onion sandwiches, but it has to be spring onions or its too strong. One thing that really really upset my stomach is Garlic and I love the stuff, but it makes me really ill. I think Im going to go and make some toast...Lyzzie x

TerryT1 profile image
TerryT1 in reply to lyzzie

I'm going to get some fizzy water and see if that helps, thank you for the tip. I was so ill before that I realised just after I signed off that I hadn't mentioned it for the SECOND time, I'm so sorry!

Eeek!!! No I missed that post about ood food and I'm supposed to be in it!!! Thank you VERY MUCH indeed for alerting me to that...

Please go and look at that post in a bit, I've got some really weird concoctions I've loved over the years that are sure to turn everyone green! I promise they taste good, but even I admit they sound terrible...

I don't think it can wheat intolerance, I seem able to eat lots of white bread for example? I mean, you must be right about the fats, I'd just never thought about them before.

The only place I could get Baxter's soups was a local shop. But they were only chicken and a year out of date, despite being full priced. I will ask around and see if anyone here stocks them. They only seem to have Campbells and own brands.

My favourite soup of all is Knorr packet Minestrone, but even that is getting harder for me to find. What is going on with shops here?

I have a packet of some brand of minestrone that I've never heard of in the cupboard, but I think I'll do it later on. I'm in the mood for soup and that rarely happens that I'm in a soupy mood...

I can't get the decent onions, they are either bitter or melt your eyeballs. Drives me nuts as I adore cheese and onion anything!

Thank you my friend!

Terry

make your own. Lots of cooked veg and blitz it, mash it with a fork if necessary, Baxters are the best, but honestly thats my taste, any soup directed at vegetarians is good. Its amazing what different tastes we all have, and yes ive read your post, all I can say is..Yuck. i was thinking just now about your soup sandwiches, its no different really that dipping bread in soup is it? I shop at tesco and they do some veggie soups. I did try quorn once and it is revolting. Sorry, cant be a veggie, my friend meg is, I like meat too much.

TerryT1 profile image

Erm yes...I have been known to try some odd combinations in food! They generally taste lovly, but it is that initial "You ARE kidding-Right???' reaction that you have to get over first to try it.

Yes, the condensed soup spread on bread is just like dipping bread, or croutons in soup. The soup tastes even stronger and nicer as it is concentrated, and there is less washing up to do...

See what I mean? It does all taste good, it is just that initial reaction of revulsion you have to get over to try them! If you think about a lot of what I try, it's not that different to 'classic' things. Like onion bahjis and fetta cheese, is really just 'cheese and onion', but a tangier version of it!

They do all taste good, but even I admit they can sound Yuck! I had the same reaction after all when offered turkey sandwiches with brown sauce, or crisps on toast, or boiled ham on toast...

Sorry but I did laugh. Never had this problem... Recently my problem has been my cat bringing Voles into my bedroom

lyzzie profile image
lyzzie in reply to mmariaaaaaaaa

They do like to put us through it dont they, they probabley think that we arnt very appreciative of their presents!!, Voles are actually quite funny, they get so cross for such tiny animals but they look so cute, cats can have a cruel nature, but thats what it is, natural to them. Our old cat years ago used to bring rats in through the open bathroom window, [ground floor] you'd wander in to the loo to find a very annoy rat sitting on its haunches swearing at you. Another one used to bring field mice into the living room and let it go, then watch us trying to capture it to let it go!!. Have fun with your voles! Lyzzie x

LOL. My cat brings me lots of mice, which i spend a lot of time trying to catch before he kills them. A short while ago there was a horrible smell in my room. After much hunting I found a mouse under my bed that had been there for a week or so urgghhh

Hi.

I'm glad that you managed to sort things !!!!

It's so nice to see those type off animals.

I used to work at a company making resin figerines.

It was a great job, it's a real shame that we don't see as many animals in the wild anymore.

I have always loved animals & I have always wanted too own a Barn Owl.

Mind you they are better off in the wild.

I will have to stay with my figerines.

I live ina village, the tiny close i live in is called Brookside, [not after that awful programme!] but literally because it sits on the side of a large brook, so we get plenty of frogs, jenny wrens as they like the water, the brook is clean as you can see minnows in it and I have even seen a kingfisher down there, it flows through the village down to the river, there is a small bridge across at the end of the close and is a short cut for our side of the brook, school mornings are especially busy. My friends have a farm and do have owls, they have owl boxes, bat boxes the lot, but the old barns are a favorite for the owls, beautiful birds arnt they, except a night when they are twit twooing outside and you wish they'd put a cork in it!!. The screech owls are the noisiest. You can often hear wood peckers banging away down the river,..you know, I cant remember the last time I heard a cuckoo, are they becoming threatened? When I was a child, in march, you could see the hares boxing on the top of the hill, amazing creatures. That joke was terrible. My poor dog is still in shock and keeps checking the carpet before he gets off of the couch!! Keep well, Lyzzie x.

I love anything except spiders and daddy longs. They are OK outside but not in my house. I live in an old house with floorboards in my living room and get slugs in there. Luckily I only see where they have been, but in the kitchen I have found a few if I have gone down in the night. I just can't see how the damn things get in! However, I do see barn owls, woodpeckers, squirrels foxes and now there are deer in the woods but you usually see where they have been but not the animals. You need to live in the country Steve.

yep, theres a lake outside the village we call Sharford lake, its an old quarry, I cant walk around it now, but I used to almost everyday with my dogs, then DannyDog, and kim, the river ouse here is old and wiggly, we came around one of the curves and were confronted by a munkjack [?] deer, we all sort of stood there surprised until it finally shot into the undergrowth, my dogs didnt move!, just shook themselves and carried on. I havnt seen a fox for a long time, my farming friends hate them, but the do have lots of really free range chickens and geese, so I can understand why, they do tend to kill for the hell of it. I loath slugs, like you they sometimes get in and if you tread on one...oh yuck. Spiders dont worry me, we had a wasp nest last year, they gotten in the wall space through a hole in the corner of the front door, I dont like killing anything, but they had to go,my front garden is on a path across the bridge as I said to Steve, and there were lots of children and mums walking through the flight path, they were soon dealt with though.

Time for that cuppa. Take care. Lyzzie x

Lol,😂 Wow the comments have been hilarious. Well since I live in Florida I can tell you if it creeps, crawls or slithers we have it! Funny thing though about 2 weeks ago I noticed a Big tree frog in my bathroom and I had a hell of a time catching him. Luckily I don't mind frogs or lizards because, they're everywhere. Just not typically in the house unless my boyfriend was being careless. After, catching and dropping (slippery sucker's) and rematching numerous times. My brain finally kicked in and I used an old towel to trap him and release him into my garden. Their great at getting rid of other pests! My dog would probably be scared as well since he's a Shihtzu and a lapdog. Everything spooks him even jets and clouds now. Partially due to him having early cataracts and a slight neurological problem that the vet can only treat with Prednisone (low dose every other day) because, I can't afford an MR for him. However, he improved greatly just by switching him from commercial dogfood to organic chicken, wild rice and veggies. Good luck!😀

lyzzie in reply to Dexter927

how big was your tree frog? the frog I had would fit into the palm of your hand, I did try to catch him but I use crutches, and it didnt work very well! My brother lives in spain, up in the mountains, their cat keeps bringing in lizards, when the try to get them off of her they drop their tails!!

We used to have a Shitzu, Ching, she was my mums dog and they doted on each other, she lived till she was 16, died of heart failure, buy could she snore. [the dog, not mum] we had two lhasa apso's as well, lovely dogs, lots of character not the powder puff dogs people think they are.

I think Bubbles would melt on the spot if he saw a really big frog, lets alone a squirrel, but he's a true ratter which we do get because of living so near the brook. Lovely to speak to you. Lyzzie x

Lol😂 My tree frog was the size of my fist. Yes, Shih-tzus and Lhasa's are very sweet and sensitive dog's and loyal also. My guy's a rescue he's about 8 year's old. My thoughts are that the dog food is so inferior (much like our own) that it's responsible for so many of the tumours and various illnesses they're getting so early on. Apparently they're prone to many of the same diseases that humans have. Lupus, depression, etc. Craziness.

buggles has a dried food, but mostly I cook him beef, chicken and fish, he's a devil for cheese but thats not good for him, he's allowed a bit as a treat now and again. Im also wary of those dog chews in highly dyed colours, no good at all. Bonio are his favorits, though he likes stale bread roll if I save him one, I have no idea why. Our Shitzu would go nuts for pomegranite, you had to seed it for her of course, wasnt going to lower herself to that!, she also loved pasta. Like you, Im careful what he gets to eat. I have never found a canned food he would even sniff at anyway. Oh, and the beef has to be rare...spoilt??

Take care, lyzzie x ps, kindly keep your frogs over there. thankyou.

Hey Lizzy been trying to get hold of you - I did put a message to everyone on site asking if they had heard from you - I hope everything is ok - how is your leg doing and how is Buggles I miss your reports on him as I think he's cookie - had to take Bob to vets the other week we discovered lumps in his neck and above his shoulder we were worried sick - phew it was just fatty tissue so vet said no more doggy treats only carrots - I was thinking of bringing him along to Slimming World with me but somehow I don't think he'd be welcome😂 He's not too happy with the carrots don't get me wrong he loves them but I suppose it's like us changing from chocolate to salads. Anyway Hun I hope this finds you all well and in fine fettle. Take Care 😘

Hidden If you get my post toolie, you'll see that Bob isnt the only one who will be on a diet, not fitting into the medium size doggy seat belt is terrible, and Im going to get the blame.

He is a pain in the neck about bedtime, he wants to go to bed at 10pm, I dont!! his answer is to sit in front of you and bark constantly until you cave in for some peace and quiet. He isnt happy until your all in the bedroom, I sit on the bed and read, you know when you throw the cover back, he like to lay on that bit while I read, with a pillow under his head, and his blanket over him. Talk about a dogs life. If I try to sneak back in the living room, one eye pops open and you just know he's saying "And where are you going?" he's a terrible guard dog, we had a new freezer delivered a couple of days ago [everythings been going wrong lately] the delivery driver knocked and came in as I had instructed, bugs just wagged his tail at him when he did stir himself he went a fetched the guy a biscuit to greet him, he could have been jack the ripper!! Were okay Toolie, thank you for bothering. Lyzzie and buggles x

in reply to lyzzie

Hey Lizzie so glad to hear from you I was getting worried - sorry your leg hasn't fully healed but getting there and hope it soon clears up for you. I know exactly where you are coming from re the depression it's one of those where you just want to lock yourself away from the world and no light at the end of the tunnel - being unwell won't help - good job you've got Buggles to help keep you going. If ever you feel down please don't hesitate to mail me I don't mind as I will be here for you ok 👌

You make me laugh with antics Buggles gets upto - Bob is exactly the same - he used to sleep in our room but got spooked by a butterfly last summer that obviously had flown in when we've had windows open - we didn't see it and he wouldn't settle - found it dead on floor underneath the wardrobe next day - so he stayed in living room with his cushion and blankey and that's where he stays now when we go to bed - when it gets to 10-11 o clock he fidgets about then lies on the floor with his head on his paws staring at me or us when hubby home - more or less saying I want my quiet so turn tv and lights off so I can get my beauty sleep 😴- my dad was like that and his name was Bob too - I always say he's reincarnated.

We have a car harness that adjusts and the end fits like a safety belt it's called CLIX - we got it on the internet if that helps.

Both me and hubby are just getting over the cold bug that's doing its rounds at the moment it's horrible because it ends up on my chest with having asthma - hope you don't get it.

Anyway will let you go loved to hear from you - and don't forget I am here if you need - take care 🤗. X

Hidden I got his belt off of the internet as well, I just didnt make enough allowance for his belly. You would have thought I was trying to fasten him into a victorian corset, its not my fault he was over hanging it, we'll start again with a large sized one,..he's just big boned thats all. If Beryl finds out she'll be making him run on his walks, as it is she makes him walk fast she says, he's allowed 4 sniffs and 2 pees, then he has to step it out. Whenhe's with me I stop when ever he wants to so I can rest, he loves it. Gotta go, he down to carpet surfing now to get my attention, he lays full out on the fuzzy mat, lifts up on his front legs as though he were doing push ups, back legs splayed out the back and literally surfs from side to side, grumbling all the while. That dog is nuts. Well, they say dogs get like their owners..or should that be vice versa?? g'night.

Hi Lyzzie and Buggles oh how I laughed when I got up this morning to find your message you really are funny - I think you should write a book with all his antics in it - I don't think some people who aren't animal lovers get how animals have personalities but they do - I get some really dirty looks off Bob when you ask him to do something he doesn't want to do.

I've just come in from garden mowed the grass - cut my sweet peas back and watered all my pots it did start to rain slightly but it's sunny out there now but chilly.

Just going to make my lunch. Take Care 😘

Hidden We've been out to lunch today with my batty aunt, she flirts like crazy with anything that has male DNA, Angela and I trawl along behind her telling them quietly that shes deaf as a post and 96 and thinks she is entitled to flirt, well, why not indeed. Meg another friend came while we were out and left some milk for me, she rang to make sure I had found it, and said that Bug followed her all round the bungalow complaining that he had been left alone, shock horror. I told her he didnt fit into his harness, she immediately said he was too fat, as he was relaxing on my duvet at the time, belly up, it did look like a little barrell, so she might have a point. I always maintain that we do call them Pets for a reason, but she says not to fatten them up like a christmas turkey!!. Her and her husband are farmers and have a lurcher who is very young, they recently lost their Wolf hound Saffi, they only live to around 8 or 9, I couldnt deal with that, they dont live long enough as it is with out having a dog that doesnt have a long span in the first place. Bug is 10, will be 11 in june. Ive had him since he was 5, he was a rescue dog, he'd been kept in a utility room all of his life while his brother was made a fuss of, getting rid of him was the best thing they did for both of us. He doesnt know how to play, but he's quite happy, but you see why I spoil him. he had had fractured ribs as well,..hes a sweety. Lyzzie & Bugs x

in reply to lyzzie

Hey Lyzzie I was in stitches about your Aunt - hope you don't mind but I read it to my hubby and he fell about too. We watched an Ambo programme the other night and there was this old dear I think she'd had a fall - because her obs weren't too good they wanted her to go to hospital to be checked over - they put her in a carry chair and as she was going over bumps she said she was having an orgasm well the two Ambo guys were in pleats laughing - then later on in the Ambo she said she'd never had one - she was a lovely old soul.

Not long back from slimming group I maintained this week but last week I was full of cold and cough so didn't feel like eating at times - it's just starting to go so hopefully will get back on track.

Anyway will let you go for know - keep your stories coming as I love them 😍.

Take care 😘

Hidden Actually, writing is one of my hobbies, been at it since I was 11, by the way, I will be 61 in december, so your talking to an old lady. [perhaps batty runs in the family] I'm going to re-order his harness this morning, extra large I think. Buggles is a lovely boy, he knows when I am particularly in pain and will sit as close as he can, with his head on my knee, he's not a lap dog, he will come up on your lap for a few minutes and then get down, sometimes I tease him by hanging on to him and refusing to let him go, he sits there moaning and grumbling, so you count to 3 and off he bounces. He follows me everywhere, including the loo, its no good shutting him out, he just whines, so in he comes and sits between your knees, thank heavens no on can see us. His dog walker is on holiday at the moment, but he doesnt seem very bothered, we do have plenty of garden for him, he likes to be outside when the children go past to school, they all know him and you can hear them talking to him. His tail never stops wagging. Ive been very lucky coming across him just when I needed him after loosing my kimmy. We've been together 6 years now. Wags & woofs from bugs, best wishes from me.
