Is this restless leg syndrome?

I get this really annoying (rather than painful) feeling in my leg at nights. It feels like it is being squeezed slightly. It is always in my right leg above the knee sort of area and it corresponds with a contracting feeling in my left groin area. Does anyone else have this? It isn't exactly numb but feels like an annoying pressure that comes in spasms and mostly but not exclusively at night.

Thanks in advance.

Mine feels more like an inside itch that's starting to hurt. My body seems to think if I kick my leg out it will get rid of it lol. Doesn't of course! I can stop the leg kick most of the time and the only way to get rid of it is think of something else! Very frustrating! I also employ deep breathing and relaxation techniques. 🐸

I wish I could help, but mine is more like a dull ache all over the leg, that only eases when I move my leg rapidly. A bit like rubbing a pain or ache to make it go away. I wish I could be more definitive for you.

I have found these articles on websites that are generally considered to be very reliable for you.

ninds.nih.gov/disorders/res...

mayoclinic.org/diseases-con...

medicinenet.com/restless_le...

webmd.com/brain/restless-le...

Ironically I learned a lot myself, including that my RLS seems to show the classic symptoms, but that I also have periodic leg/limb movement disorder which I never knew about.

Hi FoggyMoggy

I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution to this issue. I am not ruling RLS out here but it does not sound like the RLS that I experience?

It may help to discuss this with yoru GP to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Thanks Ken. I only just saw your reply. No, my GP didn't even mention RLS and you're right it doesn't sound like it from the way others describe it!
