You might find the multi vitamin already contains what you need. Check the label. I'm kind of surprised doc didn't prescribe something specific. My multivit contains 200% RDA. so yours might too. Be wary of buying loads of product and finishing with excess amounts of 1 thing. some vitamins and minerals are easier to overdose on than others.
That is true. I spoke to doc tonight and apparently my level was 39 and the report said deficient. She says the vit D is one of the few you cannot overdose on. She says if after a couple of months my level is still low she will prescribe specifically.
So on the strength of that may I suggest next time in your superstore or High Street Pharmacy, speak to the duty pharmacist. I wouldn't double up on your multivit but you might want an extra Vit D. I had the same as you on script. but loads more to get the levels up. Good hunting
I was prescribed high levels of vit d after blood test showed my levels to be seriously deficient. Follow up test at 3 months was normal so prescription was stopped and had to buy my own. I take the dose recommended by my pharmacist.
I have a prescribed Vitamin D supplement with added calcium. I do not know if this is what you need however. It may be beneficial to ring them and ask if you need anything particular in your diet or with the supplement?
My doctor told me that one needed a minimum of 1000i u a day. And it is possible to overdose on a Supplement, but not, of course sunshine. Don't forget there are substances which interfere with the bodies ability to produce vit D from sunlight...have a look on the net, it interesting
