How are you all? I wondered if any of you had any advice. I've recently returned to work after maternity leave on a part time basis. I find that by the time I get to the end of my work week I have a major flare up, to the point where the pain is unbearable. Last week I allowed myself a rest day (well as much as you can with a baby lol) but this week has been busier and I have felt sick with the pain today. The obvious thing is to try and have a rest day, but can anyone offer any other tips on avoiding a flare up so regularly? I work in an office and do sit at a desk, however I do move around the building a fair bit during the day. I don't get much sleep on the days that I work so I know that doesn't help. If anyone has any tips on how I could look after myself it would be great to hear them.

Hi i have the same problem, do you take vit b and magnesium, some people find it helps. I cut down on coffee and sugary foods and eat more protein, i find this helps. I have protein shakes the odd day for my busy days it helps my muscles a little. Rest is important and getting sleep. I hope you find something that helps so your days aren't so challenging. Gentle hugs. 😊
Are you trying to fit too much in at weekends, my family have flown the nest now but when I was working all the shopping was done in the week, so weekends were less fraught. You need to learn to pace your activity, not easy with young children, also it really doesn't matter if the housework slides a bit, I make sure the kitchen and bathroom are spotless the rest really doesn't matter so much. I do hope you find a resolution. Lou x

just one thought, you I you sit at a desk at work - I was wondering whether one of those shiatsu massage chair/cushions might help. I find mine very effective. I use it at home, but it should be easy to plug in at work? I got mine from ebay - cheap and does the job, have had it for over 2 years now. If you are in a big company occupational health might be able to help? and/or trade union? Best of luck with juggling baby plus work!
