Flare Up caused by RSV / Viral Infection?

hi everyone

hoping for some advice! I have been sick with a very bad bout of RSV for the last few weeks. It exacerbated my asthma and I was very close to being hospitalised

The virus is gone and I feel mostly recovered but am now flaring very badly. All the usual stuff - bad pain, bad sleep, brain fog, extremely fatigued, and am very down about it all

I have been reading that a virus can trigger a flare up. Has anyone else had this experience? And any suggestions with getting it to calm down! I have been back at work after being off LTS and really don’t want to be off much longer. But also know there is currently no way I could drive to work and deal with my team every day the way I’m currently feeling!

Thanks everyone

hiya yes I find if I have had a virus or bacterial infection before too long my fibromyalgia rears its ugly head and then it’s a challenge to often fight both at the same time or one after the other.

Is there a way you can work from home if you aren’t so favourable to being off sick long term?

Hope you get better soon

Thank you so much. I was pretty certain was the virus that had triggered it. I was close to be hospitalised with it and it was a pretty bad one. My work have so far refused to agree to reasonable adjustments to allow me to work from home so I am having to stay off sick for the moment which is not good. Thank you again. It really helps knowing you’re not the only person feeling like this!

Takes me much longer too fight back and Winter seems worse as I catch so much more ,although not at work I try and be careful when I can venture out. Glad too read you can work from home. That can make such a difference , take care.

Thank you! Yes this was me exactly. I have asthma and it was triggered badly by the virus. They thought I had pneumonia at one point and I was going to be hospitalised. I think I’m mostly over the virus now but my Fibromyalgia is off the chart bad now. I am in so much pain and very fatigued. Terrible brain fog and I am really down. Trying all the things I usually do to get over it but it’s very hard. Sending you a big hug xxx
