Not certain but I dont think you can refuse if you want to have the car.It is now done so that the car is only used for you to be driven where you need to go and not for anyone else's use at other times. maybe you can check it out with c.b.a.
Hi Lindamorgan
I sincerely hope that you are well today? From what I have read you cannot refuse to have the tracker fitted if you want the car? I have pasted you a link below to the Disability News Service so I hope that this explains it all to you:

Wow! This is the first time I have read of a tracker being fitted. Is it a recent thing? I don't remember the car dealer mentioning a tracker when I got my motability car last. January.
It is yet another example of the presumption of guilt rather than innocence when it comes to Benefit claimaints. If you were up before a court for robbing a bank you'd be presumed innocent until it was demonstrated that you weren't. If you claim benefit of any kind it is assumed that you are a liar, cheat, workshy, pretending to be ill, etc etc ..... The Conservative attitude to the whole of Welfare is that of the Workhouse.
Rant over. Going to lie down.
I wouldn't refuse if I were you in any case. You can only fall foul of rules if you break them, if you're abiding by the rules and using the car as it should be used you have no reason to fear a tracker.
Oh please not that old nut cracker of an argument again; if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear. For anyone that has not thought about the fallacy of the statement read this:
We looked into a mobility car when i got enhanced PIP and looked into having the free road tax and decided to carry on with the car we have, making sure that we keep enough money to one side for repairs or replacement with another second hand car.
The problem was with motabilty and free road tax was that it meant legally my hubby could not use the the car unless it was for my benefit.
It was while i was looking into all of this that i discovered that he could claim 50% off road tax under his own name as he gets standard rate pip mobility.

I picked my motability car up about a month ago and it wasn't mentioned to me, I have a ford so maybe it's different garages ?
I have own car and get free road tax via blue badge entitlement. That's how explained to me anyway.
The rules apply in that using blue badge has to be for the benefit of the holder, must be in car & journey for my needs. Also can use with any other car travelling in, on the same basis.
Do different areas have different rules I wonder?
Sorry, slightly off subject x
Hi iv just got a letter saying they are sending my assessment to DWP
Did you get one just wondering if I stand a chance the letter said it's for auditing and quality checking.
