Hi NikkiJT

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering with swollen ankles and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue. I get swelling in my right ankle and foot due to sciatic nerve damage, I do not know if this is similar to yours?

I see a physiotherapist and undertake gentle exercises that help the sciatic nerve and they are really useful and I have found the more I do them the better my ankles gets! Okay, they do not work 100% of the time but they are effective and help.

I have also found that if I can keep as mobile as possible then this also helps? I was told that I should keep my right ankle / foot elevated if I am going to be sitting for a prolonged period of time but this is easier said than done?

I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Nikki

I get swollen ankles too but usually when I've been sitting or driving for too long. It does help to keep your legs elevated when sitting, my GP advised that for me. As for pins and needles, I've just put that down to another 'Fibro thing'. I find that flexing my fingers and joints help and when it's really bad, I do this with my hands submerged in water. Hope this helps. X.

Hi Nikki...my ankles, and legs, swell as I have lympoedema, and I know certain blood pressure meds can make them swell as well. XXX
