Hi, does any one know why I get a form of pins and needles on the right side of my face.
It's has been happening on and off for a while now the pins and needles hurt a bit. And the other day when I had such an attack the right side of my face was a little droopy just by my mouth. Looking in the mirror the right side of my mouth was a bit lower. After a while it was back to normal.

Hi there I get them in different part of my body, plus a numb feeling, apparently it's the nerve endings, we can also get little electric shocks over the body, the type that you feel when you touch a handle of a trolley in the supermarket, do u ever have those shocks, I'm not that good at explaining myself lol so hope u understand what I'm trying to say lol sending you gentle hugs... I get those shocks Dee I know exactly what you mean! Thought it was just me!
I get those shocks as well,I know exactly what your explaining!Sometimes my nerve endings are so out of control that my body is constantly in a state of jerky uncontrollable movements lol x
Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply. I don't really get the pins and needles anywhere else. I don't get the small electric shocks but what I do get is what I think is a type of tick its where my whole body jerks ( it is painful as it moves all my joints) I can now sort of feel it is coming but can't stop it. But as I jerk ( sometimes just a bit of me an arm, or leg) I feel a type of fear which scares me loads.
I have no idea why this happens, it can happen when I am wide awake or when I am tired or when I am trying to get to sleep.
Any ideas

I get the same on my face too I get it in the night....Its is quit worrying ....But not said any think to doctor yet as you feel silly..Its like when you been to dentice after having injection to numb so thay can do a filling ....... It would be intresting if any one else has to say

I have had this for a couple of years now and sometimes it catches me out and gives a shock like a small electric shock and then I do not notice it for ages. I used to get it when I had sinusitis but I have not had that for ages now but still have the tingling, only if a light touch is used and it is weird as it stops at the neck and under the ears but goes into the hairline about an inch or so.
When I have told the Doctor about it he seems to not be interested and moves onto the pain and movement which I am quite happy as I can live with it no problem but the pain and movement are different things entirely.
So my conclusion is the Doctor does not know what it is or he would have paid more interest and if it was serious then he would give it more attention. At least that is how I am happy to see it.

It may be a good thing to get that checked out by your doctor. The drooping mouth bit sounds very scary and I would make sure there is nothing else going on. It is easy to ignore symptoms, as we are so used to feeling rubbish most of the time and don't always notice something different. It would be better to get it checked out and make sure that there is nothing going on and then it may not be so scary. Take care of yourself. xx

Just read your post again prompted by JanetM and totally agree with her as this could be a sign you have had a mild stroke and it need to get checked out rapidly, sorry if I seem a bit scary but that is exactly what happened to my father-in-law, he did feel a bit strange and his face dropped on one side we rang his doctor who came out and just gave him some aspirin and made an appointment for the Hospital.

Thank u for all your advice, I have made an appointment but its not til near the end of the month, I will get it checked as I also have badly behaved blood pressure which has been know to hit 230/180 before now.
This whole fibromyalgia is still too new to me. I really don't understand it at all. I used to be so fit and healthy and now I have problems walking the length of my house.
I always thought the cold weather would make me worse, at least I was right on that score.
So many thinks I used to be able to do, it's like now I haven't washed my hair for a week now as the pain in my arms, shoulders and hands have been so bad it's as much as I can do is get in under a shower. I really hope I am getting to the end of new thinks happening to me because I really can't take much more. I take loads of tablets and pain killers but. He pain never goes away. I wish in some ways this was a more common compliant so I would be able to meet up with and talk face to face with people who know what I am going through
