I feel like someone has put their hand on my back then a tingling feeling goes through - very weird.
Is this to do with nerves endings doing funny things up and down. What should I do as I have had this on and off for a while now - do I have to worry? I have fibro and rheumatoid.

when I saw rheumatologist in 2005 and he diagnosed fibro ,he prescribed amitriptyline.i don't know if this did it or it was just a temporary symptom but that feeling stopped after a few weeks.
that's how I would say it feels to, but my back, legs, arms are like it too, its worse when I am sweating which at moment is all the time. Please let me know if you find out anything that help settle this down.
Hi kate_penney - that is what it feels like. It is so hard to describe but I think you have described the feeling very well. I was trying to describe this to my husband, but not as good as you describe it. i am also gong through the hot sweating then feeling cold thing at the moment as well. It sucks doesn't it! I will have to have this checked out - but I am taking quite a few medications already. I will let you know if they come to any conclusion with this. In the mean time take care x
Sorry anburma was the one that described this as insects crawling under the skin! yes this is it the description is just like it. The sweating is bad. I can have a shower to freshen up but soon I feel all hot sticky, hair at the back of my neck all wet again , and wonder why I bothered to shower as I feel all dirty agan
Thanks for your reply. What do you take for this and does it calm down? I know I will have to go and get this checked out. You get to the point of "oh another thing is going on me again!"
Thanks for your reply Cookie72. What do you take for this or how do you deal with it. It is so annoying - just another thing now to think about! Luckily it is not all the time - I have bouts of this on and off! Take care x
Hi Andrea there is nothing you can do cept grin and bear it, I'm afraid, it's annoying more than painful i think, but Gould you hear of something that could help then let me know, other fibro friends my come up with something, u take care gentle hugs ....Dee x
thank you all for not letting me think I am going around the bend, and feeling I am not on my own.
Surly in time they are going to find something to help us. How is everyone's sleeping pattern ? I have had six hours sleep in three days I think if my eyes wont stay open I will be able to sleep but this don't go together If anyone got any tips please ?. gentle hugs.x
Hello I know this is very late which is another reason why I'm replying, I think I have the same feeling as you. It usually occurs when I'm laying down on my side. Seeing as it has been 7 years since writing that, I wonder if you still have those wierd feelings.
Yes unfortunately I do. My back does have problems. I have had Nerve Ablation in my lower back to relieve the pain. This worked but unfortunately I didn't realise that the nerves find a path to link up again so I have the same procedure every year. I have also found out that I have bulging disks but due to the virus I am still waiting for a follow up with the specialist. The hot and cold sweats still persist and no one so far has been able to tell me why. I think it is worst when I have a flare or stressed. The ant crawling feeling under my skin still persists too and this is down to fibro - I have not found any medicine that has cured this either. I still think it is worth to mention to your consultant anything that does not seem normal to you as I kept insisting to my rheumatoid doctor that there was something wrong and after 3 and a half years finally found out that I had thyroid cancer. If I had just left it and not persisted then the cancer would not have been discovered. Anything that you are not sure of it is worth mentioning always as although most of the time it can be fibro or rheumatoid related it can also be another symptom.
