It is a bit like pins and needles with little electric shocks and feel really heavy. Does anyone know if this is fibro related and any way to get relief. I have tried putting my hands in warm water but doesnt seem to make any difference. Thanks for taking the time to read x

Hi grandmakim
I am so sorry to read that you have been suffering with this issue, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to the problem. There have been quite a few posts relating to this topic, and I have pasted you a link to one of them below:

I personally have not experienced this but I use a tri-walker and do tend to give and receive static shock charges! I think it is the surfaces I roll across? It is always worth discussing this sort of thing wit your GP, just to rule anything else out and keep them up to date with how you are getting on?
I want to wish you all the best of luck with this.

I wonder if its neurological? I have had similar though not constantly like you, and it seems to go on its own - eventually. There doesn't seem to be a link with pressure on nerves like when your leg goes to sleep. I do find rubbing just above the area helps.
Have you been assessed for carpal tunnel?
I use microwaveable wheat bags when my hand plays up.they help but only temporary relief.
Hi have pin and needles in hands feet and head some times I have been put on duloxtine for it , and it has stopped for me , it is neurological you need to see you GP I have raynaulds as well as other bit going on good luck xx
Certainly go check with your GP, at least to get tested to rule out carpal tunnel. I had surgery 17 months ago and I'm not sure if its come back, or even if its possible to as I'm having problems again. I do find that cool water helps me, but it should definitely be checked if its causing you a problem x
Wow!! I've had these symptoms for ages now, and I just thought it was me! Didn't think it could be neurological!! Will have to mention it to my GP!! XX
Sorry for not replying to everyone individually but my hands are really troubling me today I will go to see my GP about it and let u all know how I go. I feel like a moner going to drs but will just have to bite the bullet and go for it thanks all and gentle hugs to each and every one of you xx
Lots of good replies above and I agree with all of them. I have bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) with ulnar tunnel in the right hand as well. The symptoms you describe are very much similar to CTS. It can star with obstruction of the neverves and muscles just below the anterior shoulders. This puts stress on the nerves and cuases tightness in the muscles and eventually nerve deterioration and a thickness in the nerves that run through the bony tunnels through the wrists and to the hands.
But never self-diagnose. It could be other things, like RA for instance, that mimic symptoms. Most of these things, combined with other symptoms, comprise fibro as a whole. See your GP, get referrals as needed. Don't live in the dark please.
I was just thinking. I get tight and sore in my neck (especially there) and in my shoulders. Stress and tension seem to bring this on. Then I get lightning shock flashes inside my head that feel like pinched nerve responses and also make noise in my brain. I have tinnitus and sometimes it is tied into this, but now always.
I hope you can discover the source and combat it on a regular basis. All my best to you.
