DLA is not means tested, anyone can apply for it. Assessment is based on how your condition impacts on your ability to do everyday tasks.

I'm not sure about ESA, but I suspect this is similar to incapacity benefit which you would lose. If you google Benefits Agency, you will find a link to a website where you can find out (anonymously) everything you would be entitled to claim for.

My hubby works full time and I get ESA just changed from Incapacity benefit - good luck x

my daughters other half worked when they moved in together and she lost hers. so might be best to check with the benefit agency to double check,

There are 2 types if ESA. Contributions based and income based. You can get contributions based if you have the correct contributions for a year. If your partner works you wont then get income based after that.
