Presumably there is a huge surplus of physios and counsellors currently twiddling their thumbs, just waiting for all these patients to come knocking?

Just when you think you've heard it all....!

I went for an interveiw to get on a pain management course and they assesed me and told me they couldn't help ...and I was better off with my injections and meds I am on now

You just couldn't make it up... People are being told they are being taken off their pain meds ... No choice ... I was told my meds and injections are the best thing for me.. No choice..

I have a theory. If they use as many conflicting policies as they can come up with, they will have heads spinning at such a rate they will explode. 'problem' just goes away. See? They were right! Clever huh?

It's seems we're being attacked from all sides - take our money or make us beg oh just for good measure takes meds away. What do these people want? Tell you what bring back workhouses like Victorian times we can all meet up there and eat gruel. Yum!

I think they can come up with enough scary ideas of their own. PLEASE dont give them anymore! :)

I was told by pain clinic there was no longer anything they could do for me after trying acupuncture, and having tried many meds im on morphine tabs, pregabalin, trazadone, ciprelex, diazipam, oramorph for break through pain and paracetomol all this and it just takes the edge off lol I am to see physio with regards to lumps down alongside spine which gp said was muscle that has gone into spasm and not come out !! if they take my pain killers away there is no way I could deal with the pain ive tried many times so what the hell do these stupid people expect us to do ,im sure this government has a vendetta against the disabled they want rid of us !!

I know what you mean. We are an easy target, no doubt at all. And they have no conscience/compassion either.

Take care. xx

I am currently seeing both physio and counsellor, as well as having Pain killers. None of them are really doing much to help :(

Same here. It helps sometimes but not all the time.

It's horrible isn't it? And we are still getting hounded, too often blamed for society's problems. You would think we had enough to contend with!

Take care. xx

Hi

I was told by the pain clinic there was nothing they could do. I tried TENS, acupuncture, steroid injections etc. I now take slow release morphine 2 times a day and have morphine top up tablets for when it is really bad. I take meds to help me sleep.

I am not sure what counselling will achieve. I have also had psychotherapy in the past and seen a physio and I am still chronically ill and in pain. What a load of bull. Perhaps we should all lean the words from the musical Oliver Twist, just in case the workhouses open.

I would like to see them offer this sort of "therapy" to cancer patients and see how they would cope with positive thinking and hot air.

Ditto. I went through everything they are suggesting years ago. My body is stronger than my mind, but my spirit is stronger than both when I need it most. (eventually). I'm still here, not going anywhere any time soon. I say to all of them, get used to it!

I have been lucky with both my physio and counsellor. Both understand Fibro and are doing their best.

My Physio is quite honest in telling me he cannot cure me, or make most of my pain disappear, but he can strengthen me to be the best I can be under the circumstances.

The counsellor is a sweetheart, she is basically helping me to accept the changes Fibro brings and helping me find things I can do to replace the things I used to enjoy and can no longer do.

For my recent Tribunal she wrote me a very informative letter about how Fibro affects me, and gave me lots of advice in facing the tribunal. I didn't win, but neither was I the slightest bit nervous or intimidated by the panel, even though I really did want to punch that doctor in the face :)

We have also discussed my medications and my opinions of them and my doctor etc. I received some good avcie on both of these issues.

So if you are going to them looking for a cure it won't happen, but if you go with an open mind and expect some help and support then you could really benefit from it.

Best of luck

Or perhaps, a crowd of doctors in private practice rubbing their hands with glee because they will get people going to them for private prescriptions out of desperation!!!!!!!

Following on from a 'mysterious' sharp increase in bank robbery. No - even better - MPs find their 2nd homes have been burgled and emptied of all their valuables, and in their place a calling card stamped with a walking stick/wheelchair......ooohhhh I wonder what's happened here.....?

The land of fantasy can be soo appealing! We can dream cant we, or is that another luxury the sick/disabled are not entitled to either? :)
