Hi guys I'm not a happy bunny I've hardly slept at all in the last month or so just getting between five and 20 minutes per night I did work out that over the course of one month I think it was something like 7hrs and 32 minutes sleep. The pain has been excruciating and don't know what to do anymore I have thought about just giving up all together because I can't see a way forward right now doctor has put me on a sleeping tablet and there of no use either so now I'm in limbo as to what's the point in going on I would like some advise please guys

Hi,

I'm so sorry you feel like that.

When was the last time you had a medication review? Or have u been to a pain clinic?

I'm sure you have probably tried everything, but a soak in a hot bath can relieve muscle tension before bed. And if the sleeping tablets you have aren't working you can ask your GP to change them. There are many different ones and it might just be you need to find the right one for you.

There are also really good charities you can contact to help you through the bad times like the Samaritans.

I hope you feel better soon

Hi Whitbyjet, I've had many problems with sleeping over many years and tried many different things. But about a month ago doctor put me on Trazadone. They really helped me with the sleeping and have been really good for the anxiety. Hopefully it lasts. I know everyone is different but you have to keep trying till you find something that helps you. I am still in a lot of pain despite my pain medications but can cope with it better.

Hope you get some relief soon, gentle hugs💕

What about if you try a Kalms or herbal tablet?

Lavender helps me. Put a few drops of oil in the bath. I have a pillow spray too.

Rest easy x

Hi there

Personally I would strongly recommend that you go back to your GP and tell him that the sleeping tablets you have been prescribed are not working.

A GP once said to me that if patients do not return then the doctor assumes that what they have prescribed the patient is working.

Have you been to a Pain Clinic? If not, whilst you are seeing your GP ask for a referral to see one.

Please let us know how you get on.

Wishing you much peace

So sorry you feel so low but it's not surprising from that little amount of sleep your having, it does get overwhelming and I've felt the same many a time, could dr try you on a different sleeping pill, I take amitripyline which helps a bit but probably have 4 hours before waking which is better then it was, please take care of yourself and you will get through it Hun xx

Hi Whitbyjet

I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend, and as BlueMermaid3 says it would probably be best if you went back to your doctor and let them know that your medication is not working for you. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Unfortunately I went back to gps on Wednesday with another issue and I mentioned to her that this medication I was on wasn't working she said she didn't have time to go into it today and told me to make another appointment with the doctor who I saw first however this is where the issue starts because it's quite hard to get an appointment as I try every day and when I do finally get through to them all appointments have gone I have to continue to keep ringing otherwise it will be a three to four week wait and I don't think il be able to cope with waiting that long
