As you know I failed the ATOS medical last month, now the BDC has contacted the council to stop my HB.

The BDC know damn well I have an appeal going, I also sent them a medical cert which they confirmed they have received, so they are supposed to pay me at the assessment until this is sorted by a DM or Tribunal.

Can anyone explain why they would contact the council to stop my HB? The only reason I can think of for doing this is to cause me more hassle.

But definitely one to watch out for folks, to get HB restored, you have to write a letter explaining why you have no income, you must also produce your latest bank statement as proof, and give them both to the nice HB officer who will photo copy them for their records.

The very idea of having to explain nil income is total BS when the twats responsible for informing the council know they owe you money anyway.

PS; If your bank statement is anything like mine, be prepared to get some funny looks.

I hate to admit my BB is very healthy but still well within the limits for ESA/HB. I am sure the woman looking at it was thinking this sod is richer than me and I work for a living.

Who said anything about cooking, the Jobcentre will supply us with all the cooks we need free of charge, on the work placement scheme. So they can gain work experience for no pay, which in turn prepares them for life without a pot to urinate in. They will be living the Tory Libdem dream.

Hi there you also have to ask them for a Nil income form this will cover you until your benefits get sorted and if they don't your covered anyhow hope this helps and if I might suggest try to take that form in and ask for a receipt just in case any thing gets lost . Fibro Friend:))

Thanks for that Royalspec01, I did not know such a form existed, they must have borrowed it from the NHS and replaced the word mouth with income, nil by income. Terrible terrible joke.

I got a receipt for the letter etc so hopefully they won't split hairs and tell me I should have used a specific form for this. My benefit or some form of it should be restored by this Friday so I will have a BDC letter to prove income of sorts.

Hi Esage,

Left hand not talking to the right hand as per normal, it's normally due to the crossover time period. Your HB should be reinstated but just to protect yourself write a letter to HB advise them you are appealing and that should be enough to reinstate your benefit. It may also be an idea to get a confirmation of appeal letter from the DWP and send that to HB.
