Hope after breast cancer?

I am 40 and had breast cancer in 2004, a bilateral mastectomy chemo and radiotherapy followed. I also had tamoxifen and zoladex. I have been trying to conceive for nearly a year without success. I am still ovulating but am unaware of the quality of my eggs. Does anybody know what i should try next? I

You have obviously been through a tremendous amount of treatment having had breast cancer, so well done you to have “come out the other side”. I feel that in view of your history and also your age, you really need to ask your GP to refer you to an infertility specialist. He/she will be able to do a more in depth hormone check on you to see whether your fertility is still OK. I know we all want our own genetic children, but after intense treatments such as you have had, it just might be necessary to consider using an egg donor to have your baby. Firstly congrats on coming through all of that, you truly are very brave and determined. I would say the same as Diana has, in that I would seek a opinion of your dr who will put you forward for further tests. As an egg sharer I know the importance of seeking to get information on such things sooner rather than later. These things are never clear cut and having a little insight into what is going on will be a big help to you. I wish you all the very best for the future.
