A flicker of hope this Christmas

Hope everyone is enjoying the festivities with your loved ones and not dwelling too much on the magic that’s missing from our lives.

So I had a laparoscopic excision of Endometriosis on 22 Dec, the first I’ve been diagnosed with the condition. They removed it from both my ovaries and another place or 2 I can’t remember where in my drugged post-surgery state. Given we have done 3 own egg cycles already. We are due to see a private IVF clinic in Greece early January to plan a donor egg cycle for Apr/May. But before then we have a whisper of hope that maybe, just maybe, once my hormones return to normal in January, that we may have a shot at natural conception for a few cycles before the DE happens. The pessimist in me tells me not to be so silly, you’ve had slivers of light before and look where it got you, but if the endo has contributed to our lack of babies then we do have a possible chance now it’s gone! We don’t want to delay the DE past the original plan of May as, you know, time’s ticking along... but we have a few good months to...ahem ‘get in there’.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏼🤞🏼🙌🏼 xxx

Sounds like the surgery went well MrsH! I hope you aren’t in too much pain and have been able to enjoy a nice dinner today! You have more chance than ever at natural conception now you’ve had it excised.

I’d recommend getting your intolerances tested (I used testyourintolerance .com or .co.uk can’t remember which) and found I am intolerant to quite a few things like wheat and cream. If you can eliminate or reduce your intolerances as much as possible this can help reduce inflammation in the body and keep the endo under control! 2018 is sounding very positive for you xxxxx

Hi Sprinkles, tell me more... is this expensive and how does it work? x

I think it cost me about £50, it’s the ‘advanced’ option you want to get. You can order Just for you, or for you and your other half. You place your order on the site and then send them 4-5 strands of your hair in a ziplock bag, then they test to see if you’re deficient in any vitamins and test against about 200 items (I think) to see how intolerant you are to them. Any that you are 85% intolerant to or more come back on your report. I cut wheat out of my diet and the difference was incredible! Less bloated, easier digestion... I am also apparently 99% intolerant to peaches and tomatoes! Very easy to use and you get the report emailed to you about a week or so after sending your sample off xxx

Thanks for the explanation Sprinkles. Sounds intriguing. So I take it it’s made a difference to your endo symptoms? Does this website company get anything out of it i.e. playing devils advocate would they tell you you’re intolerant when you weren’t, to get you to spend more money on other things? x

Aw no problem! Yes I have less pain now through the month and period pains are much better too! I don’t think they do, I’ve not had any other emails from them to try and get me to buy anything else etc xxx

Thank you I’ll look into it! x

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Take care x

Hope you recover really quickly. And there is always hope. We hear stories all the time of people being successful when everyone has said otherwise. More than ever now that could be true for you. Why not keep both options open? Go to Greece to find out more, try to have a nice relaxing time when you are there, and at the same time keep trying the natural way?

Good luck xx

This really does sound like there is still hope and we see little miracles happen all the time on here so why not to you 😊. Wishing you lots of luck in the trying and you can still have your back up plan in Greece whenever you want xx
