Gush of blood in early pregnancy

hi there, I’m due to have my viability scan Thursday after my positive FET.

I unfortunately contracted a UTI last week and was put on antibiotics. I had some relatively mild pain associated with that but then yesterday out of nowhere I went to the toilet and saw bright red blood. It was like a very light period. I didn’t have any bad cramps or anything which is is why I was so shocked. Id not long taken my lubion injection and I didn’t get any more blood at all after that but scared it’s just the lubion stopping it. I went to urgent care at my hospital and they were pretty useless and said they couldn’t scan me for a couple of days!

I’m just extremely on edge as the doctor said I’m at risk of ectopic and kept saying OHSS even though my egg were collected in April! He was a bit clueless about fertility tbh.

I went home and rested and no more blood at all but have still got this dull ache.

I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced early pregnancy bleeding at all? I’m so on edge as I’ve miscarried before but that came with really awful cramping (but wasn’t on any meds then as was natural)

I’m so frightened of ectopic and the worst outcomes. I’m also on clexane blood thinners. Looking for any advice at all.

I’ve messaged my clinic today to see if I can be scanned today.

Thankyou for any info x

I bled at 4 weeks and 5 weeks, red and pink spotting but enough for a pad.

I had haematomas in the lining at a 5 week scan and some must have bled a bit. The others seem to resorb as I had no further bleeding and rest of pregnancy was fine. The nurse said that bleeding in early pregnancy is common. I know it’s frightening but it can be haematomas, particularly if you have no cramping. Hope Thursday brings you reassurance xx

Thankyou so much for replying. I am wearing a pad and it’s little bits that come through but it’s red and fresh. I do have some mild cramps but they’re quite mild and in my thighs too aswell as abdomen. I have managed to book a private scan for later on. I have read a lot about the haematomas. It’s such a scary time.

Thanks again and so glad it was all ok for you in the end x

I bled lots in first 6 weeks. Couldn’t believe it when scan was all ok! 1/3-1/4 people bleed in first trimester varying degrees. Keep being positive & fingers crossed for your scan xx

Thankyou. I have a scan booked for later. It’s so hard not to think the worst particularly when you’ve had losses before. Thanks so much for sharing this as it gives some hope x
