Just wondering if anyone has been through this before or has any advice?
At my day 12 scan before FET about 3mm of fluid was seen on my scan. She said it was tiny, very common and if she rescanned she probably won't have spotted it. I'm taking estrogen which the clinic thinks is the cause of this and will resolve one I start progesterone.
I will have another scan next week and if the fluid is still there then they won't transfer but if it's resolved they will. Even though cancelling will be hard I will prefer this over risking my embryos (I've got 2 euploid PGTA on ice).
I asked if the presence of fluid, even if it resolves, will harm the chances and the nurse said if it's gone it will be fine.
Has anyone had this before and transferred with a successful outcome? After reading some research online I'm not sure wether just to cancel anyway and go with a natural FET...
So many hurdles!
Love and positive vibes to all ❤️

I had fluid around my cervix and towards the bottom of my uterus which is normal apparently, it’s just where our body is gearing up to ovulate apparently. Just had my transfer and they didn’t mention it so I assume it’s gone xx
I had a similar pocket of fluid at my day 13 scan & it was still there a week later. The nurse said the doctor could aspirate it during the transfer procedure if it still hadn't disappeared. My FET ended up being cancelled for different reasons however the fluid certainly didn't seem to be a cause for concern to the medical team.
Yes, I was told it would go by the time of the FET and it did, although the clinic didn't seem too bothered by it anyway. I think it can be normal on all the oestrogen and they should advise you if they think it's a lot by the time of your next scan and may cause an issue.
I always have fluid.. I struggle getting my lining thick.. 2 years ago I had a lining of 8mm but 2mm of fluid.. they went ahead with a transfer and I have a very happy healthy boy.. I’ve been trying again for 6 months.. various reasons I’ve had to cancel cycles but the fluid is always there.. I had a transfer in Dec just gone.. the doc on that day was reluctant to transfer because of the 2nm fluid and my living was only 6mm but I told him to check all my previous scans and it’s always there.. the fluid is in a thinner part so he stayed well away and the embryo stuck. Sadly it ended in a chemical but nothing to do with the fluid.. so it is possible for it to work. In America, they prescribe Mucinex which is cough medicine which apparently is good at clearing up fluid in the cervix!?!?! But you can’t get it here🤦🏽♀️
I’ve done all types of medicated cycles and natural and the fluid is always there.
Do you know how much there is in comparison to your lining thickness?
I have had 7 cycles in the last year cancelled in a row because of this. Once they started introducing progesterone then the fluid completely disappeared so I’m sure by your next scan you will be good to go xxx
I had this exact same story as you for our first FET. When I started progesterone and had a rescan - the fluid had gone. So we went ahead with transfer. We got a positive pregnancy test, but sadly we had some sad news on our viability scan. It had stopped developing around week 5-6. Which means it wasn’t the fluid at an earlier scan causing any issues, as our little embryo did implant. So uterus conditions sounds right. It is more likely to not have been genetically compatible with life.. so not something the fluid could have caused.
I know this is not the successful outcome you maybe wanted.. but the good news is the fluid went and we had implantation!
I wish you all the best with your upcoming FET!! Got everything crossed for you! 🥹🧡
hi, I had this before both my last transfers, one fresh, one frozen. The progesterone did clear up the fluid on both occasions. I expect it again this time so I’m not worried
Hi there, I had fluid on my scan and had to go back after a few days to check had gone. Luckily it did and the transfer went ahead, that was December 2022 and we've now got an almost 5 month old little girl ❤. Good luck with your journey hope it all works out for you xx
I had a lot of fluid in my uterus after the egg collection and right after I had a fresh embryo transfer (into the uterus filled with water). As a result, I became terribly sick and embryo didn't stick.
I had this before my FET, I was told to have plenty of orgasms to contract my uterus and expel any fluid. I was skeptical but at my scan before embryo transfer there was no fluid so who knows it may have worked!. I now have a healthy 7 month old baby ❤️, good luck on your journey x
I had fluid in my uterus and turns out it was from a hydrosalpinx. This was never detected prior to stims and was visible due to all the hormones. The fluid from a hydrosalpinx can cause miscarriage/prevent implantation so please make sure this is ruled out before transfer!
A hydrosalpinx is a blockage in the fallopian tube.
The fluid had decreased by transfer day and my Dr was happy that the progesterone was 'mopping' it up and wouldn't interfere. Went ahead with transfer and am now 13 weeks pregnant 👍
