I’m doing a natural FET cycle this month (not taking any drugs). Today I had my day 9 scan, they found a dominant ovary which suggests ovulation will happen, but they also found fluid.. she said it could possibly be old menstruation blood?
Anyway they said they will need to rescan before the transfer to check it’s gone…otherwise they’ll cancel the cycle. I’m so anxious now! I’ve never had this before..
Does anyone know what this means/offer any reassurance the transfer still might go ahead?
Thank you xx

Hi Emy. This is unfortunate and may need to be drained. Do you know if your Fallopian Tubes are clear? If not, it can cause fluid to drain into the womb. All a worry and a nuisance for you, but all can be sorted. Your embryo is quite safe. Good luck. Diane
Blimey, draining sounds a bit extreme! It was suggested to me it could pass naturally?
This is an FET for, hopefully, my third child. No issues like this before. I have had a c section in my last pregnancy - could that be the reason for it?
The same happened to me. You mean blood in your endometrial line right? They told me it could be old menstruation as you said or that I'll start to have spotting before menstruation. The thing is, they say if there is any blood is not good to do the transfer, cuz it's not a good environment for an implementation.
I was with progynova and the same kept happening so they had to cancel the cycle.
For me what worked was the evopad patches. It was a miracle. Good endometrial linning and no fluid/blood on my endometrial line.
I had this on my successful medicated FET - didn't have it on two prior fresh transfers. I was worried but they said it often disappears by transfer and that's what happened. So it may go and just see what they say on the next scan.
I’m on a natural fet this month also , I also had fluid on my scan on day 11. I have also had c sections . It is always there … apparently it goes at transfer . X
Thank I really appreciate you replying!! Relief to hear that in some cases it just goes away. I have a scan booked for day before transfer to check. Fingers crossed.
I had this once in first ovulation induction and never again in 5 further OIs and 2 IVFs. I was worried but in the end it just seemed to disappear/reabsorb by time of ovulation. They did tell me if we were doing IVF they could drain it if needed. I asked what it was/what causes it they just said they didn't really know.
Just in case anyone comes back to this thread in the future, I had another scan before my Transfer, and the fluid had gone. I was able to have my FET and on OTD, I got my BFP 😍 - so i don't believe it impacted implantation at all. x
