Has anyone had bleeding before an FET?

Me again asking for advice!

Has anyone had bleeding in the lead up to an FET? I'm taking progynova plus patches and I've had some bleeding today (day 5). It's like a light period bleed. I've phoned the clinic and they have said to wait until my next scan on Wednesday so they can see what's happening. Has anyone experienced this before and be able to go on to have an FET?

I am wondering if it's my period because I didn't have a bleed after the norethisterone. Who knows, who knows why anything happens during IVF?! 🤪.

Update- it's actually a full period 😢. Why is this experience never straightforward?!!

Thanks ladies xxx

I had potting before my most recent transfer. It stopped before transfer though. They just checked my lining was ok (it was) and transfer went ahead without issue.

Best of luck!

thank you!! I'm just nervous because I already have a very thin lining already and need it all! It's reassuring to know that you could go ahead ❤️ x

I think if it's light it's okay, but obviously monitor it. My first FET (which was cancelled due to poor lining) I had a bleed on day 8 (on progynova and buseriln) but my god it was a bleed, like worse than my period. I also think it was because I had covid just before we started the treatment and I've heard it can mess with your cycle and cause random mid-cycle bleeds.

It's annoying when they make you wait until the scan despite the bleeding as you just feel anxious in the lead up to said scan. So I totally know how you feel. Let's hope that because it's light it won't do anything (if you didn't have a period before maybe it's just the old lining coming out?) x

thanks for getting back to me, it's helpful to hear when it's happened to other people and that it wasn't anything too serious.

I feel like this round might be written off but I'm feeling ok because I want the best lining and this doesn't seem quite right. The thing that's most annoying is having to take all the medication for no reason if that happens x

Yeah I feel you. Plus also waiting for your period to come back after stopping meds is a b*tch!!

Good luck for the scan on Weds - I hope it's good news but I totally get mentally preparing yourself for bad news so it doesn't sting as much. I do the same thing x

Hi, yes I had this too - I posted about it a few months ago. In the end they scanned me and said all looked fine so we went ahead and transferred. Wishing you lots of luck xx
