preparing for ivf round 2

Hi all , if you have been following my journey .. it has been crazy to say the least.

I have pcos i am 26 - amh normal levels and bmi -normal/healthy.

protocol - Gonal f 112.5 (really low dose)

5 eggs retrieved - 3 immature 2 listed below

First ivf - 1 bfp fresh 3 day transfer - lost baby at 21 weeks to fetal anomaly😔 in August .

October - 5 day blastocyst 3bb - first fet - Failed

We are now back on the waiting list for a new IVF cycle. Which will likely be starting end of Jan. I am hoping they this time increase my dosage - so we get more eggs . Has anyone experienced this before? A poor response to the first ivf due to low dosage? But then went onto increase their dosage and got better results? What dosage with pcos worked for you? Do you think 112.5 is really low? . I am not sure why they had put me on a very low dose. Maybe it was because i was 25 then and they thought i would respond well?

I have started taking supplements i did not try before:

Prenatal

Folic acid

NAC 600 mg a day

Vitamin d3 4000iu

Spearmint capsules 2 a day 1000mg

Conezyme q10 600 mg with omega 3 and vitamin e included.

Vitamin b complex

and Gluthathione 1300mg.

I honestly dont know if they will help but i am trying to do everything to prepare for the best outcome.

I am a chronic stressor so i am trying my best to lower my stress levels . Can anyone tell me about their experience has anyone had a really poor response first time round but did a second cycle and alot changed? Need words of encouragement and hope please. Please let me know how you got on with these supplements if any and if they made a difference ❤️

many thanks in advance

I second what Nabsal said. I’d stick with the prenatal, folic acid and vitamin D. Perhaps inquire about myo inositol since you have PCOS as it’s meant to help.

Sorry can’t really comment on the dosage as I started IVF at a much older age (39) so they naturally put me on a higher dose.

All the best xxx

Hi,

Your list is what I used and it worked for me. One exception: spearmint. I would not use this as mint can lead to miscarriages.

I think that the brands are important as well. I personally only picked the best brands and natural vitamins as opposed to brand using non natural products. Happy to share more depending on where you are. Are you UK based?

To answer your question about Gonal-f, I was given 300iu on my IVF cycle (I'm 37) and that worked a charm - 15 mature eggs, though only 2 made it to blast (though I suspect that's more an age thing). It sounds like they erred on the side of caution given your PCOS and good AMH, but now that they know the outcome of your first stimulation then I'd be suprised if they didn't bump the dose up a little to produce more follicles. Good luck!
