Hello you lovely ladies. We are about to start our second round of IVF/ICSI. I thought I’d post our progress in the hope that it might help someone somewhere along the way. As some of you may remember, in February 2019 my AMH came back as 2.3 pmol FSH 14.5 and I only ever had three follicles (I was 34). Our first round in April/May 2019 resulted in my little boy who is now nearly five months old. The details of that round are on my previous posts. Together with my pretty rubbish hormone levels, my OH has 100% bound antisperm antibodies from a vasectomy/reversal. On his most recent sperm analysis only 1% of his sperm had progressive motility. Together we are the perfect storm 🤦🏻♀️
We were so very very lucky for our first round to be successful. We are now desperate to give our little boy a sibling.
3 weeks ago I went for my baseline scan and to everyone’s surprise my follicle count had doubled from 3 to 6. My consultant didn’t want to retest my AMH as he didn’t see the need. God knows how low it is now! We are doing the same protocol as last time but increasing the Bemfola from 150 to 300. I am a little apprehensive about this as I liked the idea of low dose stims but our consultant thinks it’s the right thing to do giving my increased follicle count 🤷🏻♀️
Today is CD1 and on CD3 I have to take Microgynon30 for 21 days before I can start stims. This is hoped to reduce my FSH. My poor OH has already locked himself in his study because microgynon makes me a very moody cow lol.
I really hope that my previous success story and the fact I’m going for another round gives ladies with low AMH hope and encouragement to carry on and to not give up on their dream even when some consultants tell them not to bother. If we had listened to the first two consultants we spoke to we would be in a very different place!
This journey is tough ladies but you are strong. 💪🏻 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻Xxxxxx
