Hello ladies I’m starting my 4th attempt of fertility treatment in September. I’m wondering if anyone has a blocked tube and been successful with a frozen embryo transfer? Also how do you know if there’s been any leakage from the blocked tube, is it only diagnosed through a laparoscopy? Thank you for reading love healing and light to all 🤗❤️

One blocked tube starting 4th treatment soon
I’ve not had any success but I’ve got a situation similar. So I’ve only got one tube due to losing one to an ectopic and like you I’ve been informed it’s blocked with fluid and this could leak into the womb and effect implantation. I took the chance and had a transfer with a 4AA which is a good quality embryo, unfortunately for me it did not work and my specialist thinks this could be because the tube is leaking. I don’t think they can see if the tube is leaking unless they do a laparoscopy. I am currently in the process of waiting to get this tube clipped which I think is going to be a long process. So this upsets me. If I was you I would give it a go and see the outcome and then progress onto other embryos after getting the tube clipped if not successful. I would take the chance. Good luck 🤞 xxxx
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know, I only have 1 tube as one was removed when I was 16 due to appendicitis. The tube i do have is “blocked and unresponsive” I was never told that it would be a problem.
I have had 4 fet in total, 1st failed, 2nd gave me my beautiful son, 3rd failed and 4th was a bfp to and I am 21 weeks with a little girl.
As I said I’m not sure if my tube has anything to do with the bfn’s as no one ever mentioned that to me.
Good luck on your journey, sending you lots of baby dust ❤️❤️
Hi Bamdon,
They can usually tell if there is any fluid when they do a follicle scan. I had a blocked tube which they diagnosed from a laparoscopy and later when went for my first AFC with the clinic they could see the fluid and suggested I needed to get it clipped before progress with a transfer.
Should be okay if they don't see anything. Wishing you all the best for your transfer and hoping the lil embryo gets all comfy 😊
Hi Bamdon,
I had hydrosalpinx and my consultant told me it was my choice to proceed or wait and have surgery. He followed up by saying it's presence significantly reduced my chances of a successful cycle because the liklihood that it would leak fluid and create an unfavourable environment for an embryo was high. Of course, like anything every woman is different and there will be success stories without treatment but for me personally after 6 years with not 1 bfp I chose treatment and the icsi cycle following gave us our son.
I too posted on here about hydrosalpinx at the time and got quite a few good replies. Take a look at the post 'Results - feeling a little deflated' from my profile if it helps. Good luck xx
Hi, my both tubes were blocked, by laprascopy one get open bt didn't work, so we tried for ivf, in first attempt before the egg retrieval process i got corona positive doctor postponed the process, in 2nd try i got positive result. Wish you all the best
Hi Bamdon, as Purple276 says, they can usually detect any fluid when you have your scans (for follicle count or for lining thickness if FET). Just be sure that they specifically look for it, especially on your last scan before transfer. Wishing you all the best xx
Hello good morning. I had a Fallopian tube checkup called a hysteringram ( probably spelt it wrong sorry) and it was revealed my left tube was not blocked but was slow to allow the fluid they injected to go all the way around the ovary ( known as a passed latency test) they had to inject the maximum fluid and lie on my side aswell) my right side in the words of the nurse ( that went through lovely) despite this endometriosis diagnosis with scarring present I got pregnant on my 1st embryo frozen thaw transfer and had a little boy ( first cycle) and late last year gave birth to a daughter also from that cycle of eggs) so it had no impact on implantation. I also had 2 smallEndometriosis cysts on one ovary. I’ve read that ivf is the most successful treatment for endometriosis but I don’t have any knowledge about blocked tubes due to other reasons, as the embryo is implanted straight back to womb so obviously bypassing the Fallopian tube issues with endo with natural conception. With your case I would say it may be best to get an opinion on possible treatment before another transfer. Best of luck x
Hi lovely,Sorry to hear about your blocked tube they really do suck!!
Both of mine were unfortunately and my consultant said it reduces your chance of IVF success by up to 50% so I made the decision to have them both removed
First round still didn’t work but hey ho 🤞🤞 for the next one! Good luck xxx
