Hi there hope2, I’m sorry you feel so sad but try to remain positive. There are lots of stories on here of ladies falling pregnant naturally and through IVF, with low AMH. You are young so your chances are still good. I know how you feel though, I have only one tube after an ectopic and my AMH is 9. I have stage 4 endometriosis and had a laparoscopy in July this year.

I’m going for IVF cycle number 2 in the next few months.

Try to remain positive. Thinking of you xxxxx

Im just shocked tbh, and wondering what will happen in the Laprascopy x

The laparoscopy is ok. My emergency one for my ectopic took me a lot longer to recover. With my planned one, I was off work for one week and recovered quite quick. The surgeon cleared away a lot of the scarring from the endometriosis. My ovaries were stuck against my pelvic wall and folded over. My uterus was pulled right back-which explained why sex was painful and smears. My symptoms are much better now but we’ve been trying to conceive for 3 months and no such luck yet. I was told my AMH was low because of the endometriosis xxxx

Hello. My AMH was 2.3 this February (I was 33) I’m now 26 weeks pregnant from our first round of icsi. I know exactly how it feels to get that test result back. Stay positive, you have age on your side. It’s all about quality not quantity! Xx

Thanks for your reply, what is ICSI? Im just struggling to accept it tbh, as i dont have a reason. Like why is it so low...xx

icsi is when they inject the sperm into the egg instead of just leaving it to nature in the lab. We had it because of my OHs low sperm count. I too don’t have a reason for such a low AMH, I’m really healthy! It was as a shock to me too but it doesn’t mean you should lose hope. My situation is proof of that. A close friend of mine had an AMH of 0.8 and she convinced naturally 2 years later after having fertility treatment for her first child after finding out. Xx

Sounds good, its great that you got pregnant 😊

I just dont know any other options than IVF, thats all inwas told to do if im not pregnant 4-6 months after the Laparoscopy. She said not to delay it.

6 weeks away from the gym is going to be hard for me tbh, its what keeps me sane.

I was thinking maybe Clomid would help xx

Clomid only works if you aren’t ovulating every month. It is usually used to treat PCOS. Xx

in reply to kitscat

My fertility dr issued clomid & I have regular periods & am ovulating. My issue was more endo but I think the clomid helped me fall after it was treated. Yet my first fertility dr wouldn’t prescribe clomid for “unexplained infertility “ ( which it was until I had my endo diagnosis) Think all fertility DR have differing opinions on it xxx

Thanks il look into it. Anything to help tbh x

This is interesting! My fertility doctor didn’t offer it to me. I think I’ll ask. My D21 progesterone was low last month too suggesting I hadn’t ovulated.

Hi HOpe. Not what you want to hear. See what the laparoscopy brings, then hopefully you may get one round of IVF/ICSI using your own eggs. Good luck and I shall be thinking of you. Diane

Assuming they remove the tube to prevent ectopic, which was mentioned, or clear it. Either way is egg freezing an option? Im really worried now and would like some frozen for in a few years time if nothing happens right now.

1 round with my own eggs? Is that because its such a low number?

And does this mean i will go through menopause early? Im really confused, my periods changed about 2 yrs ago from 5-7 days to 2/3. But my Dr kept saying it was nothing to worry about.

Hi HOpe. Embryo freezing would be your best option if enough were created. You would have to pay for egg freezing, which would depend on your AMH at the time whether it would be OK to try. Remember that eggs don't thaw as well as embryos, then you have to fertilise them. Speak to your specialist to see whether he/she thinks it's a good idea. All the best with whatever decision you make. Diane

Hey. In August, a few weeks before my 33rd birthday, I had the dreaded news that my AMH was only 3. I was devastated. Since then I have felt very emotional but also glad to have found a reason for us not being able to conceive for so long. Sadly due to this we could not get NHS funding. So we have our first private consultation booked for next month. Stay strong. It is not over for us yet! Xxx

I was really hoping to concieve naturally as my partner has children from a previous relationship so that rules us out of free IVF anyway. Do you know why its only 3? Im so confused and shocked i think, like how does that even happen?

Good luck with your IVF xx

I have no idea. I was really shocked. I kind of based my fertility on my mum and sister - my mum had my brother at 33 and my sister has 3 children. She is only 18 months younger than me. So i dont really have a family history of this as far as I'm aware. But something has caused it - I will probably never know when or what though. It sucks! But I'm not giving up. I was told to try IVF as soon as possible though as it will only get worse with time. Wish you all the best with your journey xxx

Good luck with the laparoscopy. I have 2 blocked tubes but have thankfully fallen pregnant thanks to ivf. Even with a low AMH, plenty of women have success xxx

Yeah its looking like the only option is going to be IVF so i am really trying to come to terms with that tbh. Expensive, and not that easy to plan around my job 🤦🏼‍♀️xx
