Hi all, I just wanted to crowdsource something. I am currently attempting a "stimulated" FET where I take low dose gonal-F in the lead up to try and help my slow and thin lining develop with my own estrogen. It's going... okay but not great. During my scan today (CD 13), I have a bunch of follicles (some juicy fat ones) but my lining is still sub 7mm. So they took some bloods and sent me away with another gonal-f pen and a trigger. I then got a call this afternoon to say I need to trigger today (there and then if I wanted) and then come in tomorrow for a scan as late as possible in the afternoon to check if I have ovulated.
Can anyone translate what's happening now? From what I understand, the trigger doesn't make you ovulate that quickly?! As soon as I hung up the phone I also wanted to ask what happens if the scan doesn't show what they want to see - I didn't even know you needed a scan post trigger.
Any insight would be fab as I've never done a natural or modified FET like this before. I'm so used to things going wrong now that I am really dreading tomorrow already
I ended up doing the trigger shot on the couch in the living room about 20 minutes after I hung up the phone, hah!
P.S. Yes, I paid for a small pen of gonal-F that I no longer need (boo!)
P.P.S. Trust my follicles to respond super well when they are not needed.

Hi hun I'm sorry I've not done a FET like yours but have done a natural modified FET, which included an Ovitrelle trigger shot. I did the transfer 7 days after the trigger shot, if that helps at all. I also went in for another scan 2 days after the trigger, it wasn't part of what they usually do but I was offered it as extra because I was worried about my lining - at that scan they could see I had ovulated and also checked the lining. Sorry hun I'm not sure if that's much help, there seem to be so many different FET protocols. Good luck hun.
Thank you, that was really helpful. I think the trigger acts the same way even if the protocol is slightly different... I think. What was the issue with your lining that you were checking?
Apparently I hadn't ovulated yet but I don't know what that means for going ahead since I triggered yesterday afternoon 😅 Although I've felt a whole lot of pressure releasing since so maybe it's happening since there were quite a few follicles. It's such a minefield! My lining was also not v thick, sigh. But I'll just trust the process I guess. Gah!
To be honest I was probably just being a bit over anxious about my lining, I've got it in to my head it needs to be over 8, so I was checking that (at the scan before it had been 7.7). The clinic are actually fine with anything over 7. I think from what I've understood as long as you're transferring a week after the trigger that should all be good. It's so hard not to worry though isn't it, because we want to do everything we can. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you that this one's the one
