Trigger shot? False positive?

Morning everyone. I am in the dreaded tww from our first round of ivf. Everything has gone to plan so far. I am desperate to test even though I know it’s early. Am fully prepared to take the plunge and accept that I could get a false negative. The one thing I want to avoid is a false positive. So any idea when the trigger shot hcg leaves your system? Test day is Wednesday following a high grade 5dt. Happy Christmas to everyone and best wishes for 2018 x

Morning, if you can I’d hold out until Wednesday. You’ve got this far and it’s not long to wait now.

Some people don’t get a positive until OTD, so with tomorrow being Christmas Day if you did test and it was negative you might have a really rubbish day and come OTD the result could change. So you’d put yourself through feeling rubbish for nothing.

Good luck xxx 🤞🍀

Thank you for the reply. I think I know deep down that I shouldn’t lol. You know when you think ooo someone might give me the go ahead 😂. I am hoping xmas will distract the brain slightly next couple of days. Wednesday so near yet so far. I am going to do everything in my power to not to test early. Xxx

Hey I'm in my 2ww as well and I am waiting till my test date of 29th December. I know my anxiety would be worse if I test early as you can't be sure and it would make me feel worse. Try to hold on. I thought AF was starting yesterday morning and I was crying my eyes out but the period like cramping stopped and it seems ok again. Adding a possibly incorrect test result to the mix would be pretty stressful. Wishing you all the best x ps. This is the worst 2 weeks I've ever had x

Hello thanks for the reply. Glad your cramping stopped although I’ve heard cramping isn’t alway a bad sign. Hard to distinguish what’s related to all the drugs and what could be a sign of a positive. . Keeping everything crossed for you good luck. Xx it does feel the longest two weeks

Thanks. Yep longest weeks of my life but fingers crossed for everyone x I also just found out that my cousin is having another baby which I'm happy for them but I will feel more sad if i get BFN.

So with you on that one. I find myself avoiding pregnant people but so hard when family. X

I massively recommend testing on Wednesday and not before. There are so many people on here who get false results by testing early- both ways. So you won’t be able to trust whatever the result is. Good luck with holding out if you do decide not to test xx

Thank you for your reply. I am really going to try and wait. I want sure if could get a fake positive this late after trigger injection? I know a negative can def be false if too early. Almost wishing xmas away lol. Xx

My daughter had her BFP this morning. She did a test last Wednesday and Friday and they were both negative and she was devastated. All that heartbreak could have been saved if she had waited so don’t do it. Waiting is the best way . Good luck xx

I know exactly what you mean coz it’s the not knowing but really really try not to. My daughter has been so down since she had the negative results but today she is like a different person. Even a day too early can affect the results so don’t xx

I really hope you hold out and not test before OTD. Whether positive or negative you’ll just always be questioning the result, so what’s the point. Try to focus on something else instead.

I have seen so many tests where it is negative the day before and positive OTD or even the day after.

If you do decide to test good luck, but Wednesday will be the day you will believe anyway.

I made my husband hide all the pregnancy tests until otd so I couldn’t test early!

Try to wait until OTD. I tested neg before mine and then tested positive on the day.
