Iv been told I’m having a freeze all cycle as I was at high risk of OHSS but I’m on day 4 past egg retrieval and showing no signs whatsoever of OHSS. Im in no pain, discomfort or bleeding at all so just curious whether this has ever been the case with anyone else and whether the clinic have let you go ahead with a fresh transfer instead. I have asked but waiting for a call back.
I just don’t want to freeze unnecessarily and that’s how it’s feeling let alone the financial impact of having to freeze them too. I had 15 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 11 fertilised and they’ve all survived so far. Todays update was that 5 are top grade 5 second grade and 1 third so they’re leaving them all to blastocyst stage before freezing. Obviously I’m thrilled with the outcome but I don’t want to wait if I don’t medically need to 😩😩
Thanks
Tori xx

I had my EC on Wednesday and first they said they will freeze all embryos but in 20 minutes said they wont. Similarly to you, the procedure went well and after spending all day in bed yesterday, I am feeling much better today. I am on the other hand am little bit worries about OHSS developing at later stage. I read here you can feel ok and then not ok after few weeks when the pregnancy kicks in. My clinic have invited me for an ultrasound tomorrow to check if I have waters in my ovaries. Additionaly I was prescribed Cabergoline pills. Tomorrow when I go for my scan I will ask if we can freeze the embryos as I am worried and stressed now. Why did they change their mind?
Hi Tori, I had a freeze all on my first cycle. Like you I had no symptoms of OHSS and none developed later either. But I was told that when they know you are having a freeze all they give you a different type of trigger injection which reduces the risk of OHSS but also means you then can’t have a fresh transfer. I also found my clinic to be really strict and would not budge from the freeze all idea. I’m sorry this isn’t the kind of story you were looking for, but wish you the best of luck for your transfer xxx
Hi Torijayne. I do know that many clinics are doing freeze all cycles to give your body a chance to get back to normal and they can use your natural hormones, if your cycle is regular to do a FET. Ask them to explain why. Good luck! Diane
I had my egg collection yesterday where they collected 18 eggs and I was told I cannot proceed for the transfer due to high risk of OHSS. It is hard not to feel deflated at this stage, as everything seemed fine at my scan on Monday and then suddenly on Wednesday I was being told I was high risk of OHSS. They measured 48 follicles but unsure of sizing. I am having to have Fyremadel injections and Cabergoline tablets for a week as well as antibiotics, are you having to have all of these as well? I'm in a bit of discomfort today but a similar amount to before the egg collection. Did they tell you when you're allowed to proceed with a FET? It's hard not to want to proceed soon but understand I have to let my body rest.
I had to continue with cetrotide for 3 days, blood thinning injections and anti biotics. Tbh ey said they treat everyone with anti biotics as standard procedure and the cetrotide was to reduce the close down the ovaries to lessen the chance of OHSS the nurse said so I’m assuming that’s why you’ve had to continue with yours too. I had a bit of discomfort for about 2 days but had completely gone now Iv had no problems at all. They have said it’s usually about a month so I’m hoping with my next cycle il be ready to transfer xx
