I had my egg retrieval yesterday and received the phone call this morning to say 8 out of the 10 eggs had fertilised normally. I will have the embryo transfer on Saturday (all being well) This is my first round and just wondered what to expect? I’m still sore and tender from yesterday, did you feel the same way after transfer? Or is it a bit kinder on us than the collection? Also if it’s transferred on Saturday (20th) will my OTD be exactly two weeks to the day? So 6th March? Thanks x

Embryo transfer on Saturday
Hi.My EC was Monday and transfer was Saturday. I felt considerably uncomfortable after my EC as I was at risk of OSHH, I didnt think I'd be ready for transfer. However the day before transfer I felt much better. Transfer went ahead and it was absolutely fine.
Good luck xxx
Thanks for replying. Is your OTD two weeks after the transfer? Best of luck and I hope the wait goes quickly for you x
Hey!! Embryo transfer is a breeze compared to the egg collection!!
My clinic only requires a 9 day wait from a 5 day embryo, every clinic is different.
Good luck with your transfer ✨
Congrats and fingers crossed for your embryos! I didn't end up having a fresh transfer as I was still in quite a bit of discomfort after collection and had high oestrogen levels, so had my FET last month, it was an absolute breeze compared to egg collection(which in itself was fine just a bit painful afterwards for me) so assuming your ok to go ahead it'll be absolutely fine, my clinic described it as kind of like a smear test, discomfort wise, except we're putting something back instead of taking something out! 👍 not sure about timing of OTD on a fresh transfer but I'm sure others can advise on that, good luck 😘 xx
Congratulations. That is such a great result!Good luck for your transfer. It is a lot easier than EC. I found the worst bit about the transfer was having to have a full bladder. I was so desperate for a wee and I was kept waiting for an hour due to a complication with a patient prior to me. So painful! ha
The clinic should give you your OTD on the day of your transfer. I think mine was 13 days after my 3DT. Good luck! xx
Hi
I also had my ec yesterday and was told today that 13 out of 16 have fertilised so will be looking at et on Saturday also Egg transfer is the easy bit
This is my 5th fresh cycle so I know what to expect. And I’m with a new clinic now so not sure when they will ask me to test but my last clinic was 12 days after xx
Hi, I also have just been through the process for the first time and found the EC way more painful than the transfer. I didn't feel any pain until I got home and the painkillers worn off so I took some more. I also felt a bit tender on the next day but I was back to my usual self the day after that.Yes, the actual transfer is not painful but I was a bit uncomfortable, especially when the nurse was pressing on my tummy while you having full bladder. The helpful thing I was told by my Dr was to concentrate on my breathing, I found that as something I could do so I was just focusing on that!
When it was all over they told me to go and empty my bladder and my first thought was "What if it falls out?!" 🙈 I am pretty sure that's not how it works but I just kept thinking precious cargo onboard 🙂
Lastly, our OTD is 12 days post 5DT.
All the best on your transfer and I hope that the wait is kind to you and that you will get BFP 🤞🌠
Thanks Casper that’s so helpful even just knowing to expect they will press down on my bladder and great tip with the breathing, I’ll make sure I do that! Haha I’ll probably think the same when going to the toilet 😂 you overthink everything during this don’t you!
I hope your wait goes quickly too and wishing you all the best with your cycle, got everything crossed xx
Thank you, I am so glad I stumbled on this community, before I felt like I was the only one going through it and this really helps to know that there are so many others who completely understand this shitty journey and are there to support one another x
