Follicle size day of trigger injection? Accuracy of measurements!

Hi ladies,

What size are your follicles on the day of trigger? Does your clinic have a number they look for?

I understand they create a “story” based on your hormone blood test results as well as follicle size. Not sure what hormone levels should be do you?

Second scan today I have 6 follicles though still need to grow. (This is a record for me only ever see 2-3!). Low AMH and 38yrs. 4th IVF round. Trying for first baby.

Today is Day 11 (9 days of FSH: Elonva day 3 and 6 days Gonal F 300). Using Syneral spray.

Left: 15,13,18

Right: 18, 16, 14

I also worry about the accuracy of the measurements as 2 days ago the one on the left was 21??? Now the biggest is 18?

I wonder if I’ll be triggered tonight (Wednesday) and do egg collection Friday?

I’m so worried about going too early I once stimmed for 9 days had two follicles at 21 and 19 and they were immature it was a devastating egg collection! They said they triggered me too early so want to avoid this.

Thanks Diane! Another scan tomorrow so fingers crossed they are all growing. I think egg collection will be on Monday

Hi Latetotheparty. Fingers crossed for a good result. Drink plenty of water afterwards and a little rest, but no need to wrap yourself in cotton wool! Diane

Heya. I was always told they look for at least a couple of follicles to be 18mm or over…. Good luck 🤞 xx

Hi they are looking good. My wife's we had quit a few measuring 14-18 she had a good result.You've still got time for them to grow between now and egg retrieval
