Injection Day 8 Scan 😊

We have a bunch of 8 follicles more than 10mm, so looking good for hopefully those 8 all getting up to 18mm (the goal) or there's another 4 follicles at 10mm so maybe maybe they'll also get up there!

Nurse counted 16 follicles in total (she couldn't be bothered to count any smaller than 6mm), but looks like only 8, potentially 11 will become big enough in time. So from being excited about 20/21 follicles two days ago, 8 isn't as exciting, but still good.

Emmie Hun ❤️It’s normal not to have 20 follicles after stimming - way too many! It’s very unlikely for them all to grow and have quality eggs inside...

Thanks. We got 12 eggs first round, then 6 second round, so as long as we get 6, I guess we're doing just as well as last time! 😊

8 is fab hun, we only got 4 but then only 3 mature enough but we still got 2 ‘beautiful embryos’ clinics words - they don’t tell us the grade but I’ll happily take their word my pint is you don’t need lots and lots just that one good one 👍 praying this time will be your time honey x

Awwww ttcemmie that is still good. And the other ones will still grow so i am sure you will get more follicles that are of a good size. Please be as exited as you would have been if your numbers were higher because we want good quality right (not quantity). Praying very hrd for you xx

That’s still a really good amount my love. You don’t want to end up with ohss and getting your cycle cancelled. Some of my 10s made it but even if not, 8 is a good number!

Thanks Khess. I am hoping I will be happy as long as we have something to transfer. I keep telling myself frozen is a bonus (you don't get a frozen on a natural cycle of trying!).

Hi ttcemmie,

That’s a really good outcome. I had 8 follicles in total which gave way to 6 eggs. 5 fertilised and ended up with 3 embryos. I’m now pregnant and so low numbers may contain all that is needed. I’ve also heard many a case where women get loads of eggs which end up not being of great quality so don’t feel disheartened. It’s definitely quality that counts. Fingers crossed for you. You give so much reassurance to other women on this board and so I hope in turn you get your happy ending...x

Awwww thanks Tiddly1984. That's good to know. I'm well aware that cycles get cancelled and some don't result in eggs etc. so I'm very grateful to have this number of follicles (even if it is not the most amount ever!) and I'm just looking to get to transfer. Keep telling myself that a frozen would be a bonus. Many many many congratulations on your pregnancy. When are you due?....... Next month!? Thank you for saying I give reassurance to others.
