Trigger day concerns 😬

I've had scan at clinic today and they have booked me in for collection on Thursday so we are triggering tonight. I've got low amh and have responded pretty poorly (worse than last time)😔 I have what looks like 5/6 follicles on my right and nothing on the left. There are two big ones at 22/21, and 18, 16, 14 and some wee ones at 11. At my appointment I was told to take one last dose of menopur tonight before triggering. I've just had a call from the clinic to say that I don't need the menopur tonight, my bloods are back and they are fine. They don't want to push the big ones over the edge. So my question is, has anyone not stimmed the same night as their trigger and see growth in their follicles. The nurse said there was a chance they would but given my response to date I don't have much hope. I just want to be prepared for very low/no retrieval rate of eggs. Thanks ladies x

Hi lovely, I didn’t stim on the night I did my trigger. It was my first cycle so I’m not sure what’s usual and what’s not. I was on menopur 150 per day, the last 2 days of stims it was lowered to just 37.5! And they called me the day of trigger to change it from Ovitrelle to Suprecur. I was panicked but it’s good they’re checking it against your blood tests and I think they’re just trying to get everything balanced xx

Good luck!!

Thanks Pip. That's good to know. They've just called again to change the trigger time. At least I know they are thinking about me but still anxious xx

Hi,

Your body still does a little bit of stimulating on its own so the ones around 11 may catch up, in my last cycle we got eggs from the small follicles that we were hoping would catch up (but weren’t sure). I had 3 of a good size and 3 we weren’t sure of and got 6 - you seem to have 5 at a good size and some more behind around 11 so I think it sounds positive for you xxx

Thanks Orla. Here's hoping we have similar result. It feels like my emotions this cycle have gone from 0-60 in no time at all, I'll be grateful when we get through Thursday and know where we stand and if we are lucky enough to move on to waiting on the dreaded call on Friday. We had a one in three fertilization rate last time, so not great x

Well fingers crossed for better fertilisation and a bit more growth! Protein, hot water bottles and water? I really hope all goes well for you. And the waiting is just awful isn’t it! It’s killing me that I have another 4 week wait til the next cycle starts!xx

Life is one long wait at the minute! I thought you could do your mild cycles back to back. Why the wait? Frustrating isn't it?! Yesterday was a really low day for us that we started talking about worst case scenarios. I think we are already mentally preparing for another failure x

My hubby has to have surgery in his brain this month and it’s falling on the day that would likely be egg collection... it’s just too much stress for us to contemplate as needs to be about him now. Some malformed vessels that are at risk of a bleed. We will have to see how he is after the procedure and hopefully we can go ahead end of May.

You have to think positive, I feel positive for you with those follicles and maybe fertilisation will go better this time xxx

Sorry to hear that Orla, hope the surgery goes well. It never rains but it pours. Thanks for your positivity, it helps x

Sorry you've not responded as you'd hoped hun. But don't lose heart, often the biggest ones are the most likely to fertilise and survive the process. Good luck for collection on Thursday, I'll be thinking of you xx

I've got low AMH and don't produce many eggs. I'm on cycle 4 and sometimes stimmed on day of trigger and sometimes not, just gone with their advice, they know what they are doing. They don't want to risk losing the most mature ones. I've always managed to get eggs collected from my smaller follicles. The most I've had collected has been 6 (this cycle). 5 were mature, 3 fertilised, 2 transferred and got my BFP 😊. Wishing you best of luck xxx

Hi, I'm on my first round and went for my last scan last Wednesday. I had run out of gonal f so didn't take any the same night as the trigger shot as they said was silly buying more. I too was worried but all was fine. Best of luck xxx
