Sudden extreme cramping/abdominal pain

Hi all,

I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this, but putting it out there just in case.

I'm 38 (39 in Oct), have had 2 failed rounds of IVF over the last year, have low AMH (2.6 March 2020), only one tube (left removed in Feb 20 due to hydrosalpinx, no sign of endo), poor quality eggs, no MFI, and zero positive test results in 3 years of trying. I recently did the Chicago test and have high inflammation and NK cells. I'm prepping for my third round with oestrogen-priming short protocol and steroids etc. in likely late-august. I'm been on dairy, alcohol, gluten, sugar-free diet for ages, and am taking ubiquinol, omegas, vit d, dhea, mushrooms etc.

My reason for this post is that I've had 3 episodes now since March of extreme abdominal pain. The first was day 1 of my cycle following my last round of IVF, severe cramping in the hours before my period came causing vomiting (which I've never had before), lasted about 3h. The second episode was 2 weeks later (Day 16) so not period-related, but extreme sudden pain behind my belly button causing vomiting and ending up with me in holles street overnight, but they couldn't find the cause - ultrasound showed no issues. they put me on antibiotics which cleared it. My April and May periods were fine (although last May period was way shorter than usual), but I was Day 2 yesterday and the painful cramps and overall feeling of illness came back yesterday.

I've no idea what it is, whether it's related to the inflammation and NK cells, or whether its something else, or just perimenopause, but it's really upsetting.

Wondering if anyone else could shed any light or has experienced anything similar?

Hey LewisLongbody, a friend of mine had similar symptoms to you almost each time she had a period. She said it was because of cysts and suspected endometriosis. You should definitely investigate that further though and might help getting several opinions if possible. All the best to you.

Thanks for your reply bearblue, I definitely wonder about endo, but because there were no signs of it when I had my laparoscopy in Feb 2020 ('squeaky clean' was the verdict!), everyone keeps saying that's the gold standard and you're clear so. But I imagine it could have developed as well since then. And I think if there was a cyst they should have seen it when they investigated in March, but maybe not. I've definitely had inactive cysts during both of my rounds, so maybe there's something there.

It's just so disheartening to have yet another problem/issue. Surely my list is long enough already! Anyway, thanks again for your reply!
