Morning Everyone,

I'm back again for another round of 'Give me a goddamn baby' and yesterday was my consultancy day. I signed all of my forms, had lots of blood taken, had some swabs done and left with a fortnight worth of reading material and an enormous smile on my face!

Now I am just waiting for AF so I can start my countdown to drugs.

I was prescribed the Buserelin Nasal Spray at first as apparently there is a national shortage for the injection form but thankfully when I got to the pharmacy they advised that they had the injection form if I preferred, which I did.

I will start those injections 21 days after my next period starts, and then that will put me into a menopausal state ready for them to take control of my cycle.

I also paid to have the AMH blood test to see what my egg reserves are like which was £80 but apparently helps the clinic to manage what doses I need and adjust accordingly.

I cannot tell you how excited I am. 11 years of infertility, 3.5 IUI rounds, 2 miscarriages and now I am ready to grab this IVF by both of its horns and run with it.

Anyone else at the same stage as me?

Hi MomaJoni,

I'm at the same stage as you - eagerly waiting for my next period to come so we can get started.

We haven't had any other fertility treatment previously bit have been trying with no success for a long time and have only just got to a point where we are both accepting of and ready to get some help so it feels like a massive step for us too.

I have my meds list but haven't received the meds as yet but am also due to be on the busrelin injections so hopefully they will have some in.

Wishing you success with it. Sounds like you have been through so much already x

Oh how exciting. I will keep my eye on your progress then since we are so close together. I am due to come on any day now (expected it yesterday) but I am by no means regular so this is not unusual to have a delay. Lets hope we both have 2022 babies to welcome :D

Oh I really hope so 🤞I'm due at the weekend but can sometimes be a few days longer so we might be really close together! Definitely keep in touch and let me know how you get on x

Still no sign of AF for me but it must come this weekend. Do you have to go for a blood test for day 1-4 of your cycle? Im struggling to find somewhere available to do the blood test around my working hours 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I feel like AF will be here tomorrow for me 🤞I don't think so, I don't remember that being mentioned but I could be wrong! I've already had the AMH blood test if that's what you're going for? X

Ive already had the AMH too. I can get the results in 10 days she said. AF still not here which is annoying because my boobs are hurting and had cramps for 2 days so hopefully today is the day just so I can start the count down.

Wishing you the best of luck 🤞🏾

It’s always the way!! The one time you want your period to come, it’s late.... the same happened to me before - this time round it was the opposite , it came early and I didn’t have the meds at home yet! (Mine start on day 1 as different protocol). So waiting for next one to get started. Good luck!! 🤞🙏 x

Oh thats just typical luck of someone battling infertility! As if we dont get stressed enough, our body turns evil on us haha. Im really hoping mine comes today

Hi all, I've just started taking my buserelin injections for my first round of ivf. Been trying for 6 years and then had a miscarriage 3 years ago and nothing since so decided to get some help. Our tests came back saying we had low amh so I'm on the long protocol, buserelin started on day 21 and I'm finally on my period ( its crazy how I was dying to get it this month) im booked for my down regulation scan next week so hopefully everything is going to plan. Fingers crossed for you all too, I dont know about any of you but I find it really difficult to talk to anyone about this x

Ooh thats exciting so you are one step ahead of us few which is cool because you can tell us what is coming :D I finally came on my period yesterday so I will speak to the clinic today to book my baseline scan in. I am also on long protocol and waiting on the results for my amh

Exciting but im just really impatient! Good luck with your tests results :) I'd say so far the injections haven't been so bad...ive heard the menopur is not so nice but I've not had any symptoms with the buserelin other than my period was later than usual and really, really heavy! Keep me posted how you get on and ill keep you posted as I move through my cycle x

I’ve had menopur before when I was doing my IUI and it wasn’t so bad at all. I don’t remember any side effects at all. I will keep you posted and super excited for you :)
