Hello there. I am new to this group. Here is my story..... Pregnant in 2009 which resulted in an ectopic. No tubes removed at the time but I had Methotrexate to dissolve the pregnancy. Anyway, fast forward to 2016 and still no pregnancy even though we have been trying since February 2009. We went to the doctors April 2016 and he referred us. Ended up having my left tube removed January 2017. So we had our initial appointment at the clinic last month. Internal showed all was looking good and healthy. Clinic wanted to start us ASAP. Only problem was that my my hubsters sperm was over a year old and they needed a fresh sample. First appointment we could get for this was the 17th July which is a bit frustrating but hey ho. Now the clinc have said as soon as hes given that in, ring them and they will then arrange for us to see someone about the drugs. Im very nervous. Im 33 and my hubster is 40.Was wondering how soon after they give you the lesson on the drugs do you start? She did say I would be on a long protocol. Any advice or stories are appreciated. Thanks :)

Hi KatieB84. I'm on my 2nd cycle but as far as I can remember, they tell you how to drugs and then you start. For down regulating, it's often sniffing a nasal spray or taking a tablet and for injections they give you a lesson literally on the day you start them. Just take each step at a time and then it doesn't seem to overwhelming. All the best for your journey. xxx

Hi Katie, iv just had my appointment though for the group meeting which will be on 07/08/17, I called the hospital to see the waiting time to see the nurse to sign concent forms and receive the prescription for the drugs she said it will be a month after the group meeting.

I'm also new to the group, hi all 👋🏻.

Hi Katie I'm also a newbie! I have unfortunately suffered 3 ectopic pregnancies - surgery/expectant management and methotrexate in that order. I'm sorry for your loss I really do understand it's awful. I still have both tubes but not really any point in them being there. I am currently on 2ww NHS funded IVF. To answer your question you start stims the 2nd/3rd day of your next period. Are you on short protocol? Please feel free to ask me questions you may have happy to help x

Oh no! One ectopic was hard enough but three?? I'm going to be on a long protocol. Just can't wait to start now. What are stims,? I don't remember her saying about those? So much info to take in xx

I know but just praying ivf is our saving grace 🙏 oh sorry I don't know much about long protocol as I was on a short. I had 1 drug to stimulate ovaries then another to stop ovulating before egg collection. I believe on a long protocol they use different meds but can't be sure have you had your implications meeting yet? This is the big 2-3 hour app with nurse where they go through absolutely everything! Wishing you all the best xx

How are you doing on the 2ww?? We have had our initial appointment where we had the smoking test, some more pee tests and an internal. As soon as he hands his sample in on the 17th j have to ring the clinic and they will arrange an appointment to go through all the meds. Hoping it's all systems go then xx
