Hi ladies, for anyone who had a polyp removed for ivf purposes how long did you wait for your biopsy results? I had the polyp removed 5 weeks ago. Thanks xx

Hi there

Had a polyp removed in October last year and had the results at my follow up appointment in November. It was about 6/7 weeks.

It was benign so nothing for me to worry about.

🙂.

Have you been told you have to wait for results before you can start IVF?

X

Thank you! Yeah the clinic said I need to send the results once received. It was 5 weeks ago so thinking would know by now if it was serious? Maybe I should ring my hospital who removed it xxx

Hi lovely, I had a polyp removed to prep for FET - they didn't actually put any emphasis on checking what it was, so I just assumed it was a benign lump. And it was just that, but they just mentioned it in passing in my follow up appointment about 10 days later. Have your clinic said they are concerned about it? xx

Thank you well the clinic just said 99 percent of time they are benign but wanted to the results before my fet. I had it removed at hospital 5 weeks ago so thinking surely if anything serious I would kmow by now? I waited 6 months for it to be removed too xxx

I would think they would have contacted you straight away if it was anything sinister. I'd just give them a call xx

I waited months for my first polyp removal results (so long I actually forgot about it 😂 it was around 7 months later) the 2nd time I got the results the following week both turned out fine. So I think it just depends. I wouldn't worry, anything sinister you would usually hear quite soon after xxx
