I think it depends. I had a fibroid removed but this was privately. Took about 3 weeks from first appointment to surgery. This also could be as well that the same surgeon had removed 2 - 6 years ago. Is this removal on the NHS or privately?

Thanks faithful, I was hoping nhs but if it will take a while will go private if affordable. Where was your fibroid if you don’t mind me asking ?

I had a submucous fibroid right bang in the middle of my uterus. It was only 1.5cm but the surgeon said it would have definitely effected implantation. Good luck to you.

My partner had a polyp (twice!), & we had them removed on the NHS. With the first one we had to go to the GP, & she suggested paying for the initial consultation privately, but then have the treatment on the NHS. This is because she said you could be waiting months just for the initial consultation! The private consultation was around £100, then after that she was treated about 7 weeks later. I think when we priced it up to do the whole thing privately it was about £7000! Good luck xx

Wow my private consultation today is 235 pound!! I won’t be paying 7000 to have it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That’s exactly what we said! Ha! We just had a look at our local hospital’s gynaecologists to see which ones offered both private & NHS treatments, so that we could have the consultation privately, & then transfer to NHS for treatment under the same consultant.

I’m VERY glad we didn’t pay to have the whole thing privately, as she ended up having another one a few months later!!! xx

I had a polyp removed in early June. It was discovered in March, two week wait for a gynaecologist appointment (I got a cancellation) and then a three month wait for the procedure.
