Hello :) I hope you polyp removal all went smoothly. I had a polyp removed last January and I think the results came fairly quickly, maybe in a couple of weeks, because I could have started an IVF cycle 1 month later (so doctor advised not starting on the first cycle after the op, but on the 2nd). For various reasons (covid etc) I didn't do an IVF cycle until July. But it is good to press on as soon as you can. I seem to have trouble with them re-growing - I had another removed about 3 weeks ago. So just waiting for the results same as you but it's all delayed by the Christmas holidays. Nurses appointment scheduled for the 12th Jan. I was advised that I could just continue as normal after the hysteroscopy. But then I didn't have a general anaesthetic this last time. Wouldn't want to give you wrong advice. Check with the nurse if you are not sure. Hoping all ok for you xxx

Thank you for your reply its very helpful. Its comforting to know someone else has been through the same recently, I feel the ivf process can be very lonely at times. The procedure was fairly straightforward hopefully yours was too? My clinic want a copy of the biopsy results before proceeding with my final cycle is that the same for you? Funnily enough I had a polyp removed 10 years ago just before my one and only successful cycle (nhs funded) but I wasn't worried then at all I can bearly remember it. I think that's because I was younger and wasn't a mum then. Now I'm anxious about ever think its the numerous failed cycles and miscarriages thats affected me plus all the hormones from the drugs aren't good for your mental health are they. Anyway thank you for your reply hopefully we will be starting our cycle together would be nice to have someone to chat to. Best of luck xxxxx

Yes, it's great to chat to someone with similar experiences. I have found it very lonely - I've only just joined the forum and I don't know anyone who has been through IVF so I've just been going crazy by myself! It is my third cycle of NHS funded treatment and last of 3 embryos. Yes, it was a straight forward polyp removal. I was awake and could watch on tv screen (I chose not to!) Was impressed with how quick it was. Last time I did have to wait for the biopsy results so I think it is the same this time. Yes, I would guess they'd get in touch quickly if there was something serious. Aw, I can empathise with being anxious. You have been through a lot. I'm a bit nervous about my next cycle. The last one ended in early miscarriage so I'm just a bit worried about being anxious and on edge the whole time. Anxious about being anxious! Great to hear you have had one successful cycle in the past. Yes, keep in touch and let me know how it goes and when you start your next cycle. I'll be thinking about you xxx

Just thought I'd say that I just had a call from the doctor and the biopsy was a bit suspicious so they are going to fit a progesterone coil as a precaution. So that means 3-6 months before another IVF attempt as long as all goes ok. But I guess it is better they are spotting problems and taking precautions. But don't worry, I don't think this is common at all so hoping your biopsy is ok.

Oh sweetheart im sorry to hear your ivf will be delayed. I did see another womans post about she had the coil fitted and she started her ivf cycle 3 months after. Yes your right its precautionary isn't it similar to when the find abnormal cells on a smear. And how lucky we have regular scans for ivf to pick up these things. They've taken a while to contact you which has surprised me. I havent heard anything yet but I am anxious. How do you feel about it all? Its true when they say ivf is a journey isn't it. Ill private message you if thats ok xxx

Aw, thanks for such a quick reply. Yes, fine to private message :) I think I'm just still processing it. Disappointed to have yet more waiting and I am apprehensive about what it will be like having the coil. But I'm telling myself I'll just have to make the most of a few months of normal life not thinking about IVF appointments and healthy eating etc - and trying to find good things to do xxx
