Hi all, I had an early miscarriage (5 weeks) 2 weeks and 1 day ago. I’m still bleeding and wanted to know if this is normal and when I can expect the bleeding to stop? Thanks in advance xx

Hi love, I’m am soooo sorry to hear you had a miscarriage 😢, it’s so unfair and such a horrible thing to experience. The bleeding you are experiencing sounds normal to me. When I had mine I bled for just over 2 weeks it gradually got lighter and lighter. Take lots of rest, water and eat iron rich foods. Sending big hugs and love to you xxx

That’s a relief I think because it was so early and it’s now just over 2 weeks I was starting to panic! Yesterday felt like it was getting lighter and then more red blood today! How are you? Do you have you’re next steps? Sorry to hear about your losses xx

Aw I know, no one really tells you what to expect so it is a very anxious and upsetting time. I remember being really shocked at the blood and the hospital said I’d had minimal bleeding! 😳 Hope is starts to slow down for you soon. I’m ok thank you. I’m on meds now for my 5th FET. Xxx

I completely agree I only knew it was possible to bleed for a while as a friend went through it last year but she was much further along than me. Good luck with your FET will be looking out for updates xx

😞 it may well be a bit of withdrawal from meds as well lovely. Is your bleeding still heavy? x

Thanks, it’s not too heavy but more than spotting I rung the clinic today and they said it’s normal so I guess I just have to be patient. Hope all is still good with you xx

I bled really heavily for about a week and it was really painful, but then it stopped. But that wasnt with ivf so no drugs or anything. As Kitcat said you probably are having a withdrawel bleed too. Im guessing its like if you stop taking the pill half way through a pack, the withdrawel bleed is awful x

Thanks yes clinic have said it’s normal so just trying to be patient just feels hard to move on while still bleeding xx

Hey I’m so sorry about your miscarriage.

I had a miscarriage 2 and a half weeks ago and think that’s the bleeding finally stopped. At a week and a half it had really decreased down to very light spotting/stopped however at the follow up EPU scan they said there was blood left and lo and behold I started bleeding again. Hope it all stops soon for you, it seems like it just takes a bit of time for everything to happen x

Thank you, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. How are you? Yes Sunday was more like spotting but then it got heavier again on Monday 🙁 xx

Thank you, I’m on the mend, had a very sad first week after but now starting to feel better (there has been wine and chocolate). In a strange way bleeding stopping and a negative pregnancy test have helped so I completely understand wanting the bleeding to stop to help move on. After I restarted bleeding it was like that for about 3 days then back to spotting when wiping then nothing so I’m sure it’ll stop soon🤞❤️ x

Yes lots of chocolate here too! I’ve been told to take a pregnancy test a week Thursday, it’ll be strange wanting one to be negative but I can see how that and ending the bleeding will bring closure. Hope you’ve got some lovely plans for Christmas xx

Hi, very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I would say to keep an eye on the amount of time you are bleeding and any changes in your blood flow patten or colour,

In my case I was still bleeding 6 weeks after an early miscarriage, so best to get checked out if you are concerned.

Ask your GP for a pelvic U/S to make sure there is no retained product as well. I think miscarriage aftercare could be so much better, take care of yourself, its an awful time.

Thanks for the advice, at what point did you go to your GP and did they say what was normal/what to be concerned about? At the moment my clinic have said this it still considered normal xx

Hey, I went after a month of bleeding, they sent me for an ultrasound. If it doesn't feel right for you ,always get another opinion for your own peace of mind x

Thanks for the advice, after the ultrasound did they give you anything or did you still have to wait it out? Also how long after was your next period? Sorry for all the questions xx
