The Pill in prep for IVF/Donor cycle

Hi, I'm SOOO confused and stressing! I started the pill on day 2 of my period (Monday) in preparation for my first donor egg cycle in July but later that day after taking the first pill my period stopped.... Since then I've had pinkish brown spotting, stomach cramps, some nausea and tiredness, although all of which are my normal period symptoms. I'm thinking that by some complete miracle I could be pregnant (for the first time) but also know that I'm just clinging to the thought out of desperation. Any reason why my body is doing this to me?! Surely the pill doesn't cause such an immediate effect?! My clinic didn't really say much about it. I took a pregnancy test roughly 16dpo and a bfn. Xxx

Sadly it was just the pill having an instant effect! Incredibly frustrating my clinic couldn't tell me that. X

The pill has that effect on me. The first month I start taking it I get a kind of period for a month. Xx

Same here. Started microgynon last Friday ahead of next cycle and loads of brown/red spotting and gentle cramps. Last time I had it for the whole of the first pack. Xx

Brilliant, as if periods aren't bad enough for just a week! Looks like I'm going to be bleeding /spotting for the full 28 days I'm on it x
