Double Donor IVF Recommendations

Hi all

I haven't been on here since last Summer - gearing up to do OE IVF in HK where I live.

I had six perfect DE embryos in Greece last Spring but couldn't get there because of COVID.

Fast forward to today, I am now single, my husband left me while I slept the weekend before my OE IVF round was to begin.

I filed for divorce Christmas week.

It has been a rather shitty time.

Anyhow, six months after he left and I am sure I want to be a mum. I wanted to use own eggs and be married but... we don't always get what we want.

I am looking for your BEST recommendations for clinics for Double Donor. I will be looking for egg and sperm donors.

I turn 45 next month.

I’m so very sorry to hear you’ve had a shitty time, I remember you and honestly sorry to hear what you’ve been through recently. But it’s wonderful that you’ve decided what next and you will be a mum very soon I’m sure!

I don’t have clinic recommendations or experience for double donor, but I see people going for embryo adoption or double donation to places like prague where I think it can be quick and easy, I guess it depends what you will be wanting from your donor - do you want anonymous or ID release at 18, do you want to see adult photos or baby photos etc.

Thanks Orla. As I've been in HK for last twenty years, I'm thinking now would like an Asian sperm donor with Caucasian egg - I will see if clinics can support. I'd just do in Asia but it isn't legal unless you're married... Used to be OK in Thailand but that was stopped too five years ago xoxo

Thanks hon. I mean yeah the frosties are there but as they're my husband's DNA I can't access them...

Definitely can't fly at Summer as HK has a strict three week hotel quarantine booked in til end of Sept. Hoping for Christmas!

Also thinking Spain not Greece as lot of memories of Greek trips with ex husband... want to avoid those as much as possible!

I haven't even heard of it before! If it wasn't for my age I'd just use donor sperm. I had ten great looking follicles back in Sept before everything went awry!I shall research now xx

Hi hun! I'm so pleased to see you back here. You've been to hell and back hut it sounds like you have your sparkle back lovely!! I only know of one person that has done double donation as a single woman and she went to Athens. However I did see that you were keen to avoid memories of going back. I looked at Spain but found it pretty expensive and a couple of friends of mine were double what they charge in Greece. Have you considered going to Thessaloniki instead of Athens? They have a very good clinic that would have been very high on my list had I been able to get flights all year, I can send you the name if thata any help. Your strength is amazing!!😘🤗💪🏻xxx

Hi, what a tough time you’ve had. I am a solo mum to an amazing daughter after OE IVF. I have a friend who had DD treatment in Glasgow and one who had the same treatment in Spain. Both are older mums (43+) and have babies now. I wish you well x
