DONOR EGG IVF.

I am currently on my first fresh donor egg ivf in Spain. I am Day 14 on Progynova and I measured over 7mm on Day 12. When would I be ready for transfer? We haven’t been told when my husband will need to fly over to give his sperm sample? 😬 Any help from donor ladies appreciated. Thank you in advance 😊

Hi, we had donor egg treatment in Spain & I'm now nearly 27 weeks pregnant, so good luck.

It does all depend on your and your donor's cycle & we were given an approx 2 wk window when they expected it to happen & in the end it did happen right in the middle of that but we found it to be all very last minute and action stations to get there despite being in regularly contact with them! We had an email on the Monday afternoon & had to sort flights and accommodation to get over there on the Wednesday afternoon ready for a scan & husband's contribution on the Thursday morning (at the end of July)! Then had the embryo transfer the following Tuesday late morning/lunchtime and flew home that night.

We had gone away for a couple of days when they contacted us, as having been in touch with them earlier that day and not been given any indication it may be that soon we thought the earliest it would be was the end of that week we'd need to get there! All I can say is keep in touch with them and do your best to keep your diary clear (including forewarning work etc) and be ready to go at short notice - check out flights, accommodation and so on now so that you have some idea in advance to save time later on.

Very best of luck to you xx

I’m currently 19 weeks from donor ivf in Spain too. I was on Progynova for about 3 weeks till I measured about 12mm but I have heard anything over 7mm is fine. Do you know when your donor will be ready for egg collection? That’s the day your husband will need to be there whether you’re ready for transfer or not as they can freeze your embryos. Sounds like you’ll be ready for a transfer though. This has been my experience. Good luck

It will all depend on when your donor has started stims and is ready for egg collection....obviously for egg collection. For example, I started meds on Wed, my donor is due her period today (give or take a day) and egg collection is forecast 30th, 31st Jan. So we are flying out on 29th Jan. You clinic should be able to tell you if she has started stims etc and if she has donated before then they should have a rough idea how she responds to meds.xx

Hi Gem. Most clinics prefer your lining to be at least 8mm so hopefully you will soon be there. Good luck and I do hope all goes well for you both. Diane

Thank you

When you went over initially for tests he will have given his sperm then. They freeze that, then defrost some to ensure all will be ok for the process you are at now.

So the next date you will have will be for transfer.

Good luck xxx

Thank you all! My clinic has improved their communication in the last two days. My donor had her egg collection today so hopefully I get a Monday transfer.
