Hot flushes and infertility.. Any advice?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been quiet for some time. I’ve just found out my FET failed today, we had a 6 day embryo (hatching- grade 5AB).

I’ll try and keep it brief, we started our journey nearly 6 years ago. I didn’t ovulate regularly and started on clomid which I reacted too so after 3 months transferred to tamoxifen. I’ve had a resection of septate uterus- 2 surgeries to repair. I have low AMH- 8 (08/2016). My FSH is 5.3 (normal) LH- 6.6 (normal)- both checked 08/2016.

I’ve had hot flushes mainly 2 weeks leading to AF for about 5-6 years. My AMH suggests I’m peri- menopausal and the symptoms I have also support this, however during my FET I had an Antral follicle count and they said it was really good, plenty of follicles to see ( confusing) doesn’t add up to my AMH 2 years ago, and also my consistent flushes! I feel I’ve been ignored about my flushes, in fact everything they have found wrong along the way they said each diagnosis was rare and I would unlikely have it... WRONG every time, I obviously am just unlucky! My question is this time during my FET, I had the same symptoms as my fresh IVF- hot flushes after the transfer (a drop in oestrogen) I mentioned after my last failure as I felt there was not enough hormones in my system, this time I was on a patch up until transfer, prognova 3 times a day and a daily injection of lubion as I preferred injections to anal bullets 🙄, this time I had spotting a couple of days after transfer, (good sign) then the flushes started particularly after they removed the estrogen patch on transfer day! Any one else in the same boat, I feel I need this to be investigated and need to push for this, seeing my GP on Thursday and was thinking about pushing for a referral to an endocrinologist?

Any advise is greatly appreciated 💕

I can’t really offer you any advice except to say that I agree about pushing for a specialist appointment when you see your gp on Thursday. Good luck xx

I hope they listen to you. I also wish they would test hormones several times of the month.. with my mum they only saw her temp rise for longer than it should. But I was told I was obsessing. That doctor was not nice. I hope you get to see someone else x

Hey girl. I have had two surgeries too for a septum. The first two were back to back as they didn't get enough the first time. Now over a year and one more mc later he thinks I need a third surgery. Where are you at with all this?
