Negative results but no bleed...?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?...

Embryos (2) transferred on the 1st August and two weeks later a BFN. No withdrawal bleed occurred over the following week and within that week 3 negative results. Called the clinic on the 8th day and they asked me to test again - still negative.

Managed to get a cancellation appointment with our Dr at the clinic on the 21st August who couldn't explain why I hadn't started bleeding. Did a scan which showed no signs of pregnancy, uterus lining still there and ovaries recovered well. Blood test done for peace of mind and HCG levels indicated no pregnancy. I had the option to just continue waiting for things to happen naturally or take Norethisterone tablets to induce a bleed. I opted for the tablets and am now halfway through the course, but my head and body feel all over the place. I keep getting twinges and feel very bloated (as normal when I've taken the tablets beforehand at the started on ICSI cycles!).

Has anyone experienced this?...it's driving me nuts. It's bad enough having negative results but I'm struggling to clear my head and move on while I'm still in "limbo" 😕

Hi Sweetpea76, No wonder you're feeling weird if you are taking these tablets which will be hormone triggers. Usually the craziness means the period won't be far away. I thought that for a lot of women they don't get the period right away after the BFN and usually wait a wee while at least. I felt like I was unusual as I got mine the very morning after my BFN, which left me thinking that it would have happened even earlier if I hadn't been on the progesterone pessaries.

It still hasn't been that long since your BFN on the 15th so it's still in the realms of normal as far as I'm aware. The period will arrive and I'm sure you will feel much better as soon as that happens.

All best wishes, xxx

Thanks smallcat, the clinic paperwork says to expect a withdrawal bleed 3-4 days after stopping the pessaries. From my previous cycles, I started day 3 and day 5 from stopping the medication. Hence, my feelings almost three weeks on! 😥

You're not on progesterone, then? That can prevent a bleed.

I finished the progesterone pessaries on the 13th August!

Hey

It's all crazy, first time negative had a 2 days small bleed then nothing for over a month.

2nd time no bleed and came on about a week later.

Third time not started hoping no bleed and a big fat BFP😁

Try relaxing a little and trying to take your mind off it, your body has gone through so much lately and so I guess it's trying to find back its balance, keep hydrating and I its not easy through the pain but try and grieve and talk it out.

Your body will do the rest.

Sorry for your news 😘
