Hi all, TIA for reading and super grateful if anyone can help!
I had my 2nd failed icsi cycle in march followed by the usual post cycle bleed, then tracked my ovulation the next month which showed I didn’t ovulate until day 23 but then started my period on day 29 (?!?!).
This month I’ve been tracking again and ovulated on day 16 but it’s now day 34 of my cycle and no period… so 18 days post ovulation & no bleed. I’ve done a pregnancy test which is negative. I should also add I used the clear blue smiley face kit to test ovulation which the clinic said is the best to use & should be accurate.
I’m so confused!! Can anyone shed any light, is it just that my body is messed up still after all the ivf hormones? (but then how can I not have bled yet when ovulation was confirmed?)
Thanks for any advice/experiences anyone can share! X

Hello, not sure this would be the same thing but a positive test does not always mean ovulation it should be confirmed by a rise in your temperature. It has happened to me a few times that I got a positive test and no period. But then I started testing a bit more and realised that unless my positive test is followed by a positive test 12 hours later it wasn't a real ovulation. So now I always track with temperature as well.
Thank you for your reply.. I didn’t realise this, no one has ever explained this to me! Definitely makes sense for this situation though, now I am worrying I’m not ovulating when I thought I was. Our clinic even advocate using urine OPKs to plan the transfer in natural FETs (which is what’s next for me but now wondering if I’ll have to do medicated instead if my body is not ovulating) so I assumed it would be reliable! Yet another thing which isn’t straightforward in this frustrating journey😫
I know it's so frustrating, but it definitely does not need to be the case for you. From what I'm told it does not seem to be the norm.
You don't need to worry about the natural cycle though. I'm doing that now and you'll do a Ultrasound to measure the follicles (that's what my clinic does). I also took the trigger shot so you don't have to worry about not ovulating. If you're not doing Ultrasound you can take another test morning and night. It's good to know how long your normal LH peak is.
I'm sorry if I made you worry just wanted to share my case.
Thank you, that’s reassuring to know I can still do a natural cycle as that’s what I’d hoped for, I really hope your cycle is going well? No don’t apologise, I’m so grateful for your reply, anything that helps me understand this crazy process a bit more is helpful!
I definitely prefer natural cycle, this is my second and I'm on day 3 post 5 day transfer. Have pretty low hopes as this will be my 5th in total. But best wishes for your natural cycle. This journey really is crazy!
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! It’s such an anxious time isn’t it, keep positive though, there’s nothing to say it won’t work this time so you’re still in the game🤞🏼 thank you. Yes it’s the worst journey but hopefully will all be worth it in the end 🙏🏼
Thank you, I'll try keep positive but I don't have any symptoms, just like the other times. I'm trying to think of these as not separate attempts but as a journey that hopefully will result in a baby in the end. It's such a anxious time though 😫. Sending baby dust
I’ve been the same both my failed transfers, constantly symptom spotting and comparing (driving myself crazy) but I’ve read on here people who’ve had completely different experiences/symptoms of pregnancy, which is reassuring to know it’s not always the same each time even when successful. Sending baby dust to you too 🤍
