Norethisterone but no bleed

Hi ladies. Any advice or comments will be greatly received please. My partner and I are due to begin IVF but due to my Polycystic ovaries I have not had a period in over 3 years. I took 3 5mg tablets of norethisterone for a week which I finished 2 weeks ago. I have had no bleed. I have to phone the nurses tomorrow if it doesn't arrive by then. Has this happened to anyone else? I am really worried that it will mean something else is wrong or we cannot do IVF. We have been through 2 years of clomid and then injections but no avail. I am really panicing xxx

It may be they need to stimulate some lining first with oestrogen so that there is something to bleed xx

A friend of mine just had lining scans to check that it was thin enough to start the IVF as she wasn't bleeding either. Then they stimulated everything. They said it didn't matter that she wasn't having periods. Good luck with your treatment xxxx

This happened to me with that drug. It just didn't work for me. The only way I could induce a bleed was using the combined pill for 21 days x

Hi Hancam30. Hopefully you have spoken to the clinic and they have come up with a different thought. However, they may leave you a little longer and just scan you to see if it OK to start stims. Good luck with whatever is decided and of course for success. Diane

Thanks Diane. They want to test my E2 and LH levels and then will decide what to do but either way they said it ring affect me undergoing IVF 😊 Xxx
