I was just wondering what other people’s experiences were of their first period after surgery to remove endometriosis? I had this in December and endometriosis was removed from POD and my left ovary. Although due on a few days ago I haven’t had my period but I have felt like it’s been coming for the last 10 days. usual symptoms - back pain, cramping, low mood, fatigue etc. is it common to miss a period or for my cycle to change? Any experiences would be helpful to Hear! X

hey!
I had my surgery in September (but also mirena fitted) and didn’t get a period until December. Mirena probably messed this up!
But i was definitely in a little bit more pain and it lasted longer. I ended up taking codeine that was left over from the surgery 😄
I did read online it can take a while for your cycle to resume after surgery.
Hopefully this helps in some way x
Thank you for your reply! Does make sense that things would take a while to settle but they just don’t tell you things like this afterwards!
How have you found the coil aside from the more painful period this time? I am considering this after a couple of months if I don’t feel better x
